Playing around with my recently acquired Lensbaby Composer. I thought this was an interesting way to show the focus/bokeh control!

This is the birthplace of the composer Edward Elgar, who was born on 2 June 1857 and died 23 February, 1934, aged 77. He lived here for the first six years of his life. The cottage is at Lower Broadheath near Worcester.
Elgar is best known for composing the Enigma Variations, the Pomp and Circumstance Marches, concertos for violin and cello, and two symphonies. He also composed choral works, including The Dream of Gerontius, chamber music and songs.
First photo with my lensbaby lens. <3 Not a brilliant photo as it was dark, but I just HAD to try it out when I got home. Needless to say, i'm very happy! I missed the focus slightly on this shot. I'd have tried to get it better, but was cooking and trying to multi task! (And there was a Toro in the background)

Day 300 of 365 - Learn It Or Lose It
Day 48 of 50 (50mm for 50days)
I had a 'conversation' with on of my flickr friends today about manual focus. He is a big collector of old lenses and cameras that don't generally work together and ends up getting things like Olympus lenses to work with Canon body's through adapters and such. Obviously no auto focus is available in a situation like that. I brought up that manual focus is a challenge for me and the lensbaby I have had for almost a year has gotten almost no use because of it. So after my 50mm challenge (and yes I realize the lensbaby is also a 50mm) is over I will be spending some serious time with the lensbaby. I have committed to myself that if I don't learn to use it effectively very soon I am going to sell it. Hopefully that will motivate me. I love the idea of the lensbaby; I just haven't given it enough effort to make effective use of it yet.
And a link for those of you who don't know what it is.
Oh -- And happy day 300 to my fellow PAD2009ers that started Jan 1!
