Out on my daily out and about today. We received an extreme cold warning again but right now it's -13C feels like -19C which is comfortable enough to get out for a walk with the camera.
The snowbanks here are quite high and unlike most other municipalities and cities around us they don't seem to remove the banks rather they just bring a grader to move the pile higher it seems.
Once again I took my Lensbaby system but this time the Composer Pro with the Sweet 35 optic on the Canon 5D Mark II and converted to black and white in ON1 Photo Raw 2022.

Among my favourite classical composers is Rachmaninov. As I post this image I am listening to his piano concerto No 2, from 1901. Within the melody, another familiar tune is revealed in the form of "All by myself", by Eric Carmon in 1975. A mistake that cost him dearly for using that same melody.
He thought it was public domain, when in fact the family had retained ownership. This scenario reminds me of that situation, but for the opposite reason. Believing for an instant that I own this moment, it is instead a public one. All will enjoy this melody that continues to play for others to capture.

The busts of major composers adorn the walls of this salon in the Austrian State Opera House (Staatsoper) in Vienna.
The Austrian State Opera (Staatsoper) is a massive operation that employs over a thousand administrators, workers and performers. During the annual season from early September until mid June, that season's shows are performed on a rotating basis requiring a complete set change everyday since there is a show almost every night. In fact there are often two set changes in a day due to the need for dress rehearsals.

This was taken from the 42nd floor of our hotel. What you are seeing is the South Exit of Shinjyuku Station.
