My one and only azalea is doing her thing again this year... after starting life as a twig growing in the wrong place, my husband wanted to toss it... I can't throw anything away that is alive... so I planted it in a half barrel, where it has lived for close to 10 years.... it has transformed into a beauty that sits proudly in our garden!!

Under the same keys, two musical worlds came together in an event celebrating the 150th anniversary of the births of Sergei Rachmaninov and Maurice Ravel. Four pianists, divided across two pianos, brought to life significant works by the two composers, each interpreting their unique musical language with mastery. Rachmaninov was represented through his romantic virtuosity, while Ravel shone with his impressionistic refinement. An extraordinary evening in which the stylistic diversity of these two musical worlds intertwined harmoniously, offering the audience a memorable experience of unity and creativity.

Schubert - a composer of poetic gaiety and of tragic sadness, here depicted in white and subtle shadow.

Lensbaby Composer Double Glass Optic. Went out with my heavy winter slippers, coat and PJ's out in the yard to get some photos of the wintery yard.

The busts of major composers adorn the walls of this salon in the Austrian State Opera House (Staatsoper) in Vienna.

The Austrian State Opera (Staatsoper) is a massive operation that employs over a thousand administrators, workers and performers. During the annual season from early September until mid June, that season's shows are performed on a rotating basis requiring a complete set change everyday since there is a show almost every night. In fact there are often two set changes in a day due to the need for dress rehearsals.

It's not the "official" first day of autumn / fall as that doesn't happen until around 9:00 pm this evening but whos to argue. It's the first day of fall to me. Sweater weather and yet still the dahlia's are blooming here.
