In all honesty I can't remember the purpose of the ring section that comes away at this point, but it was obvious at the time. If the shutter mechanics need removing for cleaning then here you are. The escapement is retained by the two screws (red arrow and ring). Note the flash contacts are in the red ring. On a similar camera, there was a claw under this end which also had to engage with the escapement. the self-timer should lift out then, but note the location of the spring end (blue arrow) - here it looks like it is attached to the camera and not the self-timer (as it is on a similar camera). IBM Components Division Research Building (Paul Rudolph, 1962-1966). A greenfield corporate campus, in Rudolph's distinctively textured and formally antsy Brutalism. As the documentation by the Paul Rudolph Institute makes clear, this was supposed to be even more elaborate, with hanging sun-shades and a full-developed entrance plaza. (The latter, with its combination of broad grand staircase and high-flying portico, suggests a kinship with Rudolph's earlier Sarasota High School.) It would seem some of the flourishes were victims of budget cuts; perhaps others simply seemed less important as IBM continued to plan a much larger campus surrounding this project. Where Rudolph's renderings show his pinwheeling building enjoying bucolic views on all sides, these days it's just one piece of a huge industrial and infrastructural pie (see satellite view). In recent years, the complex, under new ownership, is leased off in pieces to various industrial tenants.

Technical description
The main part of the work is an aluminum plate that sounds and moves interacting with the environment. A piezoelectric sensor and an electrodynamic exciter are attached to the plate, connecting it to a computer. The computer catches the sound from the piezoelectric sensor, applies filters and output it to the electrodynamic exciter, creating a feedback. A servo motor pulls the plate dynamically in relation to the distance between the audience and the plate. This distance is measured by an infrared camera positioned under the plate, which is also turning down the output signal when no audience is tracked. The feedback sound is modified by the bending of the plate and two filters: the first changes the audio increasingly in relation to the plate bending and it is created by scanning the camera image and transforming the pixels luminance into a dynamic sound filter. The second filter individuates the continuous notes and cut them. The outcome is a feedback system that changes in connection with itself, the bending of the plate and the camera image.
