The 25,000 square foot media tent on the campus at Belmont University nears the completion of framing. The tent will house a large number of visiting media people who will cover the October 7, 2008 Town Hall Presidential Debate.
The SR 167 completion project is building a portion of the new spuyaləpabš Trail in Pierce County. The trail will roughly follow SR 167 from Puyallup through Fife and Tacoma. The name spuyaləpabš is the Lushootseed name for the Puyallup People, translated as “people from the bend at the bottom of the river.” The name was recommended by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. Much of the trail will be located on the tribal reservation.

Artwork by Coast Salish artists will be featured at key locations along the trail, telling the stories and culture of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.

Crews are removing and replacing a decommissioned Pierce County sewer line.
Removing this sewer line is part of the SR 167 Completion Project which completes SR 167 from its current end at North Meridian Avenue in Puyallup, extending it 6 miles to connect to SR 509 in the Port of Tacoma.
The SR 167 Completion Project is part of the Puget Sound Gateway Program. The Puget Sound Gateway Program combines the SR 509 Completion Project in south King County with the SR 167 Completion Project in Pierce County to complete critical missing links in Washington State’s highway and freight network. These projects provide new connections to the state’s ports, improve freight movements and reduce congestion on local roads and highways.

On Interstate 5 near South 216th Street in SeaTac, WA the framework for a new concrete barrier is in place. Concrete will be placed over the rebar and left to cure. The barrier is part of the SR 509 Completion Project which includes improvements on I-5.
