HISTORY
Pillar completed 20th September 1948 costing £15.12s.0d. Computed as secondary triangulation station SD74/15 within the Blackburn block, and levelled to second class precision during 1948. Last maintained by the OS in June 1976.
SITE VISIT
Four trig circuit from Jubilee Tower. Car park opposite at SD542573. Followed footpath NE to SD556589, bagged Clougha Pike, returned to SD556589 and continued eastwards on mapped path until reaching the west trig (560m) on Wards Stone plateau. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces NE, ~50°. Vented through NW sight hole. Long views in most directions, other pillar on Mallowdale Pike clearly visible. Continued to the east trig (561m) named Mallowdale Pike.

Look what I just got... the orange JAJ rainbow bowl. I know there is still a larger red one to go but since you could have bought the set this way I'm going to consider it complete for now. LOL

My May #onemonthlygoal is complete. The binding is piped and machine sewn. It should have been a quick goal to achieve, but May is yard clean-up and planting month in this neck of the woods, so finishing the binding kept getting pushed aside in favour of playing in the dirt!
The pattern is by Barbara Henning, and is in the 5th book of her strips series. I did this together with some quilting friends as a mystery - using up the strip set packages we had received as Christmas gifts.

One of my first photos of the completed tank, before fish were added. The rocks in the tank are a mixture of petrified wood and river stones. I built the stand myself and stained the cabinet doors with a Monstera leaf pattern.

Completed project: Informational pamphlet, model, legend card. This was SO MUCH FUN. I'm actually a tiny bit sad it's done. (For scale, the pamphlet is 8.5" high.)

The United States and Japan are on the cusp of completing a historic free trade deal—the Trans-Pacific Partnership—that many would have deemed impossible less than a decade ago. This highlights the enormous potential of the world’s two largest market economies, the U.S. and Japan, collaborating in strengthening the rules-based international economic order, and prompts the question of what comes next. On October 13, the CSIS Simon Chair in Political Economy will host a half-day conference to examine a diverse array of U.S.-Japan economic cooperative efforts, including in Internet governance, space, quality infrastructure, and regional and global economic governance. We will look back at how far the two countries have come since the difficult days of trade friction in the 1980s and 90s, and forward at how Washington and Tokyo might deepen and expand their economic cooperation.
