Post, welded, with wedge and screw through the length

All tape removed, washed with soap and water and blown dry. Still ugly because the airbrushed colors are dry, opaque and some areas have grainy overspray buildup.

Symmetrical vs. Asymmetrical

Now it's starting to look like a saucer! Tomorrow, we will start covering all that PVC with silver tarp.

On Sept. 6, 2016, Soldiers, assigned to 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, were tested mentally and physically as they completed the first three phases of the Warrior Brigade Soldier/NCO of the Quarter competition on Schofield Barracks. During the event the candidates were required to complete a warrior fitness assessment (three minute push-ups, three minute sit-ups, conduct a 3 mile run followed by pull-ups); complete a 6-mile road march in under two hours; and technical tasking stations (which consisted of a weapons station, a land navigation station, a communication station, and a medical station).

Here's the completed bike! Took it for it's inaugural ride on Saturday. After a minor adjustment or two, it rode like a dream.

Can't wait to start training for the NYC Century Bike Tour and the Bike MS Ride.

Time off sick at home means i had plenty of time to sit about and do nothing. Getting tired of watching movies and lying in bed, i decided to put my hands and mind to use and started another one of these incredibly detailed drawings.

I enjoy mindless patterns and abstractions. This differs from my photography as I am forced to create my own imagery, complexities and detail. Look closely and you will see.... another side of me.

There's no instictive ""point"" like much art these days... just because I felt like it. This drawing here is the culmination of about 11 hours of work. Its surprising how quickly it adds up. At some point I will frame it and sell it.

See if you can find the treasures:

+ How many circuit boards run Unicornubia?

+ How many Pacmen are there?

+ Where are the suits - think of each suit from a pack of cards.

+ Do you see the earth, the moon and the stars?

+ What letters from the alphabet can you find

So I decided to get more interesting motives. One way would be taking portraits of strangers. This is my first time actively asking somebody for permission to take their picture.

I spent the whole day looking for interesting people, wondering how I was going to approach them. This needed to be different to the secretive shot-in-a-crowd picture. I know that I'm only good with people I know, somehow it helps find the right moment.

So not only did I want their permission, I also needed to find out something about them beforehand.

The picture didn't work out quite that way; I took an easy route. Anna sells newspapers, and she was the only friendly person in the subway station. After passing her, I turned around, bought a paper. I told her of my dilemma, that I had been worrying about failing on the first day of my own assignment.

I guess buying the newspaper wasn't really cheating, as it helped me talk to her, but it definitely was an excuse.

The shot took only a minute, I was too nervous talking to a complete stranger, so finding a good light and neutral background didn't allow much waiting for a more personal expression.

On the other hand, the portrait captures what made me stop and walk back in the first place, an earnest smile. Thank you, Anna.

Thanks to excellent planning and management the project remains under budget and ahead of schedule. What one might think are trees in the background is the section of the channel where the end of the barge with submarine's bow will be positioned during off-loading.

Now, we need to fix that wall and replace that coffee table...and get a rug...and new windows...and... :P

Well it only took three months (asbestos tile abatement was part of that), but the kitchen and dining room are redone after an unknown and obviously long-term ice maker water line leak. It's interesting how insurance covers things (they didn't pay for new cabinets but paid for the restoration company to take the old fronts off, build new boxes, and then attach the old fronts to the new box).

Every day we were treated to a spectacular sunset view from our balcony.

and now we have knobs! jadeite, to match the lovely jadeite dishes my maternal grandmother has been kindly gifting us with each year for christmas. nice little fern in the corner. top doors next... we were going to leave some of them off permanently, but today i remembered earthquakes, so now we are thinking harder. and oh, the irony: the stovetop (newish and untouched in the work we've done) developed a short on thursday and we're living on takeout. ohhh the universe's sense of humor has no end!

This project I had the pleasure of working on with my father Panayiotis Vikos. We toiled day and night (literally) for close to 2 months completing this sculpture (I'll order it from start to finish). It was then painted and used in a mall in Dubai as a time piece (mechanical pieces too). This scribe sat on the elephants back - total height 7m. He may be small but he looks amazing!

The Upper Stony Creek Transformation project will rehabilitate a 1.2 kilometre section of Upper Stony Creek, with a focus on the area between Furlong Road and Gilmour Road. Costing $11.35 million the project will turn the existing concrete drain back to a natural state.

Stony Creek is a waterway in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It runs through the suburbs of St Albans, Albion, Sunshine, Braybrook, Tottenham, Brooklyn, Kingsville and Yarraville, before entering the Yarra River beneath the West Gate Bridge.

This is the completed mini quilt I made for my secret pal. I used antique buttons from my mother-in-law's collection. She isn't here with us anymore. Each snow flake is unique so I used different white buttons to resemble the uniqueness of each flake. It is a wall hanging and I hope she will enjoy it. This also was so fun to make! It is also the first fmq project I have ever completed and I am very satisfied with what I created!!
