LoongSoul 75cm boy, FL PukiPuki, Soom Rosette Pure Girl and Minifee A-line boy

This is a comparison of 3 Canon Lenses:

- Canon 28mm, f1.8 prime

- Canon 17-85 IS/USM at 28mm

- Canon 24-105L at 28mm

Each Row is shots from the same lens, shot "wide open", f8, and "stopped down" (columns 1, 2 and 3 respectively).

The top row are shots from the Canon 28mm f1.8 prime. You can use the quality of these shots as a point of comparison for the other 2 lenses.

I think the Canon 17-85 IS/USM at 28mm compares very favorably with the Canon 24-105L at 28mm. Not only at the f8 "sweet spot", but "wide open" and "stopped down" as well.

Can you guess which row represents the Canon 17-85 at 28mm? And which row represents the Canon 24-105L at 28mm?

A US Air Force Test Chart was shot using a Canon 20D, tripod, mirror lockup and remote shutter release. A 500W hot light was used for consistant lighting.

You can get a copy of the US Air Force Lens Test Chart here.

This "snippet" was cropped out of each lens chart, for comparison. No PhotoShopping.

A crude comparison of the light from an old-style compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb with that from a new LED bulb of the Lemnis Pharox variety (£30 when I bought mine from amazon.co.uk/). The LED gives a much 'whiter' light, lasts longer, uses less energy, doesn't mind being switched on and off, it contains no mercury... and it fits a standard UK light fitting in the ceiling! The 6W LED bulb is equivalent to a 60W incandescent bulb.

His body size is probably similar to Ever After High, the Ever After High boys bodies are muscular Jay's body is too only slightly smaller, Ken is slightly similar to size, MH on the other hand are a lot different and the clothes do not fit.

WARNING: DO NOT post any inappropriate comments or I will report you this photo is just to show the different body types only.

and if your wondering why Ken is wearing a skirt well he's not articulated so can't cover him self up so I wrapped Mansters Deuce's shirt around him I don't think he was happy when he got it back.

Comparison with Cokin ND filters. Image on left is without any filtration while image on right has 3 Cokin ND filters applied in a stack. all three filters were from the Cokin graduated ND filter kit and from what i can see dont show the magenta color cast i kept hearing about. Both images were taken with the same settings. Daylight color balance, not AWB for those curious.

Any comments or information on whether Cokin has redone their filters to fix the color casts with in the past few years. Most reviews discrediting the filters were written around 2008.

ISO comparison between the Nikon D600 full frame DSLR and the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera.

No adjustments (no noise reduction, no sharpening). Just exportet from Lightroom 5.7

Lenses: Nikkor AF-S 50mm f1.8 G on the Nikon, M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8 on the Olympus.

Aperture: f4 on the D600, f2 on the E-M10 (to get the same depth of field).

Since a few years I had the feeling that the paper's quality of the Moleskine Pocket diary became worse and worse. So I ripped out a sheet of my first pocket diary and made the comparison: Moleskine Pocket diary 2001 and 2014. (Please note: normally this is really really forbidden! Never ripe out a sheet of your sketchbook or diary! Outrage!)

At the first sight the differences don't seem to be very big. But when I look at the details I see: I'm right. The paper's fiber is getting destructed more fast in the newer Moleskine - you can see it in the paper's surface after treating with watercolor. But this is not the most annoying thing. Please have a look at the red watercolor dot above the two lines on the bottom of the spread. On the left side (2001) the borders are rather sharp. On the right side (2014) the borders are blurred, because the color is bleeding. The sme with the blue copic lines (Copic B24): The lines on the 2014 page have got some kind of shadows from the bled color. Colors are creeping inside the paper, so it's more difficult to draw some vibrant pictures with clear borders.

Pity! I really love those Moleskine pocket diaries, because they've got the best calendar design for me. But I wish the paper's quality will be improved one day. Moleskine, please let me know.

Here are comparison shots of the old Dragon Priest mold (left) vs. the new one (right). I've tagged the old air bubbles and cancers or impurities. You might also notice by the sheen of the new cast how much smoother the new mold is.
