A compactor for excavator is a machine or mechanism used to reduce the size of material such as waste material or bio mass through compaction. A trash compactor is often used by a home or business to reduce the volume of trash it produces. A baler-wrapper compactor is often used for making compact and wrapped bales in order to improve logistics. Normally powered by hydraulics, compactors take many shapes and sizes. In landfill sites for example, a large tractor (typically a converted front end loader with some variant of a bulldozer blade attached) with spiked steel wheels called a landfill compactor for excavator is used to drive over waste deposited by waste collection vehicles (WCVs).

Giant Panda Su Lin at the San Diego Zoo on 10/18/08

My DSLR started showing error message (0x58) when I got to the panda exhibit. Couldn't take any photos at all. I had my compact point and shoot with me (to take photos of food and stuff) and I enjoyed the agony of everyone else! It is so hard to take animal photos with regular compact point and shoot. You have no control! You have no idea where you're focusing. You have no idea what's going on! Everything is preset. It was so frustrating and so not fun. I pretty much lost desire to shoot.

After I got home, I wiggled the inside of my DSLR and it started working again. What was all the dead weight I carried on my back all day?

I LOVE the smell of a brand new pressed powder compact. <3 Plus, nobody except Rudolph wants a shiny nose. ;-)

Retevis RT95 - aka Anytone AT-778UV & CRT Micron

The Retevis RT95 is a compact and easy to use dual band HAM radio that can also be expanded to cover GMRS frequencies. This makes the radio versatile for emergency situations. Also, I added a 12v cigar lighter port adapter so that the radio can easily be moved from one vehicle to another. At 25 watts max power it seems to work fine being powered by my 12v port in my Prius. The screen is easy to read in all lighting conditions and all controls are intuitive and easy to use. Audio is loud and clear both receiving signals and transmitting. For the money it’s hard to top this radio. I’ve used radios that were twice the price and not as good an overall package as this RT95.

From Tina:

Thank you for looking at my vintage compact collection! Compacts became a fashion statement for women in the early 1900s and are still made today.

I started collecting vintage compacts around 10 years ago. A co-worker was cleaning out her mother's house and gave me an old cigarette case that she found. I held onto it for awhile just excited about the unknown history behind it, but when I did a little research, my envy turned more in the direction of the powder and rouge compact.

I have over 100 vintage powder and rouge compacts. I have gotten most of them at yard sales, flea markets, EBay, and some as gifts. My oldest one dates back to 1920. Based on information from a 1999 price guide, most of them value anywhere between $25.00 to as much as $500.00 each. Collecting compacts is a fantastic hobby for me! They do not take up much space, they are easy to display, they are a great conversation piece, and they are very durable and hold up well over time! My 6-year-old thinks they are so neat and I really enjoy sharing them with her. To this day, I always keep an open eye to add to my collection whenever I can. It is something that has become part of me and I love the fact that every compact I own has its own very personal history all hidden inside, something that will remain a mystery forever!
