I've used this line before, which only emphasizes what it means unfortunately. This could apply to more than one person. There are some things that I want to forget, but my subconscious refuses to let me. I've discussed this with other people and what I've confirmed is that our minds can be twisted and annoying. But perhaps there are some things that we have to remember for the better? I am "over" this, really. So I should take comfort in the fact that it's not the only thing I think about it. It doesn't distract me from my schoolwork or keep me up late at night (other things do that for it, haa). But it's just annoying to have it in my head.
On an unrelated note, one morning I woke up and the light coming from the window was so lovely. I ran all around the house trying to find a camera, but my daddy hid his D90 because he didn't want me playing with it and the other camera we had was broken. I've yet to see that lighting again, but I'm waiting patiently for it.
I'm going to use this for my "52 Weeks" Project because I don't know when I'll get to my other ideas.
I've been unusually active on Flickr lately, and that's probably not a good thing. I started to organize a layout for an online portfolio type of thing to refresh my memory on Web Designing & Coding. But I haven't gotten very far, so I made another Tumblr in case I decide to stop. Nothing is posted yet though. :\
I talk too much, sorry. One day, my descriptions will be so long that no one will even bother to scroll down to make a quick comment. Ack.

Leeds Pride 2019 - words are wholly inadequate to describe what an amazing day this was. The outpouring of love and togetherness was jaw-dropping, the crowds along the streets were even bigger than last year! My favourite day of the year, as has been the case for the last 3 years since my first one.
It makes me fill up just going back through all these memories.

The Courts is an early Georgian mansion built in the baroque style. It was described as newly-built in 1731 when it and adjacent dyehouse and workshops belonged to the clothier John Phelps. At the end of the 18th century a woollen cloth factory was built there, but all the industrial works were demolished a century later.
The Courts Gardens were initially designed by Dr [later Sir] George Hastings 1902-1905. Much of what can be seen today was planted by Major Clarence and Lady Cecilie Goff between 1921 and 1943, when he gave it and the house to the National Trust.
The village of Holt is a compact rectangular settlement set in an oddly shaped parish, with a ‘tail’ of land south of Forewoods Common, that includes Great Bradford Wood and Lady Down Farm. This seems to have come about because Holt was part of the ancient manor and parish of Bradford and when the urban boundaries of Bradford were defined as roughly circular, this area of land lay outside them and could only be given to Holt. The manor house of Holt lies to the north west of the village and has had no settlement associated with it since medieval times. The river Avon is in the south of the parish and forms part of the southern boundary while the Kennet and Avon canal passes through the southernmost part of the parish.

If you'll indulge me one more of these, I'd appreciate it...it is the last one because we took down our tree tonight. It can be very sad this time of year, after the holidays and all the anticipation and excitement has passed, and that's why a few years ago, I started calling it, "The Season without Reason"...this is the time of year when we celebrate life! You don't need a holiday to do that!! There's no reason not to go out for a celebratory meal and/or drink, buy that gift for your pal that reminds you of them, take the extra time you do have to spend with loved ones.
For Sliders Sunday, I decided to class it up and make it a little less busy with some more muted tones. Nothing needed to be done to the sharpness or clarity at all since my 60mm 2.8 macro is a GEM of a lens! You can see the sooc in comments.

I have not read the book this quote is from, Norwegian Wood. All I have read by Murakami is short stories and perhaps an excerpt.
This is experimental work. Two grids in Illustrator this time, each with only three columns and three rows, one with appearance to edge and the other with appearance to center. Imported into Photoshop, one layer on top of the other. Then some warping, changes in blending mode, gradient map, levels, curves, etc.

The Track Continues past behind the waterfall, and we will have more steps to climb to reach the plate. Now steps downhill are gone... and the rain begins to fall, leading first then to be a flood. Fortunately, we were well equipped. The path is not without pitfalls and we will see in some places. I had to stop shooting because of a heavy rain.
After a half an hour's walk in the rain, I recognized the scene: this place we already visited months ago. And a friendly sign tells us that we have passed the 450 steps (in the right way).
Thus here ends this adventure. We need to take the plane and fly back home. Feeling a twinge of sadness, as always I have to go back.
Coming soon: A hike at the White River in Southern New Caledonia. In the meantime, have a great week ahead everyone.

Une Fois Passé La Cascade, le chemin continue et nous allons devoir gravir d'autres marches vers le plateau. Eh oui ! Finie la descente… et la pluie commence à tomber, fine tout d'abord pour être un déluge ensuite. Heureusement, nous étions suffisamment équipés. Le chemin n'est pas sans embuches et nous le constaterons par endroits. Les prises de vue s'arrêteront donc là.
Après un bonne demi-heure de marche sous la pluie, je reconnais les lieux : ceux que nous avons déjà visités dans l'autre sens de la marche des mois auparavant. Et une pancarte sympathique nous signale que nous avons passé les 450 marches (dans le bon sens).
Ainsi se termine cette aventure. Nous devons reprendre l'avion et retourner au pays. Avec un pincement au cœur, comme à chaque fois…
Prochainement, nous irons faire une ballade à la Rivière Blanche, dans le Sud calédonien. En attendant, passez tous une bonne semaine.

The Mobile Emergency Room is a project by Thierry Geoffroy/Colonel, a participating artist of the Maldives Pavilion working with art formats developed around the notion of emergency.
Emergency Room is a format providing space for artists to engage in urgent debates, address societal dysfunctions and express emergencies in the now, today, before it is too late. Geoffroy’s approach allows immediate artistic intervention and displaces the contemporary to the status of delayed comment on yesterday’s world.
Taking as point of departure climate change and the Maldives, Geoffroy developed a scenario of disappearance and translated actual emergencies and hospitality needs into artistic interventions. In this context he activated his penetration format in order to transform “rigid exhibition spaces” into “elastic and generous exhibition spaces”.
An intervention facilitated by curator Christine Eyene, the Mobile Emergency Room was set up at the Zimbabwe Pavilion during the opening week of the biennale with the hospitality of commissioner Doreen Sibanda and curator Raphael Chikukwa. The first pieces presented in this room consisted in Geoffroy’s tent and an installation by Polish artist Christian Costa. Since then it has been animated online and has extended from being a space for artists expressing emergencies about climate change, to encompassing various emergency topics.
From 24 to 28 August, Geoffroy was in Venice collaborating with Danish artists Nadia Plesner, Mads Vind Ludvigsen, who created new work everyday, raising various emergencies and concerns, with a daily change of exhibition (“passage”) at 3.00 pm. For his last day in Venice, Geoffroy addressed the Syrian situation.
The work produced during this intervention is displayed until 30 September. The presentation is based on Geoffroy's concept of "Delay Museum" where art created for past emergencies is exhibited, while new work enters the Mobile Emergency Room.
