Happy Valentines Day! Hope you all had an awesome day. :) Haha so the title is a bit of a downer considering this is the "day of love." Whatever. I thought it was cool sounding...
These are just staples that I bent (hmmm bended?) into a heart shape. Then I stuck them in an old picket fence...Very exciting I know. :)

Our annual September trip to Newcastle, our favourite city.
What a very very social night we had on Friday!
Some of our friends were in town for a wedding so we met up with them on the Friday night in The Yard. We also met p with Gemma's Brother Graham, his Husband Bruce, and their friends Jon and Jimmy who were all over from Florida.
Previously we had met them in London but this time they had travelled al the way from London by train to come and meet up with us in Newcastle!
We first met up with them in the Yard, along with Jennifer, Sarah and Jack. Great to meet Jack for the first time in person.
Then we went for an amazing pizza with the Florida guys at Fuochi Pizza Experience.
After that Gemma and I headed to Rusty's Showbar where we saw some great drag, and met some more lovely people.
It was a cracking night!

Leeds Pride weekend. Wow. After a far too long 3 year wait since the last one, we had been building up to this!
For me, Leeds Pride weekend is the highlight of the year. And this year it certainly didn't disappoint!
Saturday night was quite low-key because we were all preparing for the parade on the Sunday. But a group of us went to the Hifi club for our usual Saturday night comedy and for a drink in Queens Court afterwards.

Yesterday morning I went out shooting and didn't come back with one usable shot. I think that perhaps it was because it was the first time I had gone out and there were no clouds. I tried to do all sorts of creative compositions which didn't include as much sky and I really thought some were going to work, but I was wrong. Grrr.
It made me kinda nervous because once the rains stop here in California we will be without clouds for many months, not to mention without lovely puddles like the one pictured here. I'll have some major adjusting to do!

I processed this photo the day after I saw the Ansel Adams documentary. I was inspired by his breakthrough of using filters to dramatically darken the sky and I tried for a similar look, even though the subject matter is different. ;)
BTW - This one, unlike most of my landscapes, is not HDR ... it is two exposures (one for sky and one for land) hand-blended in photoshop.

I went to the flea market today... I got a vintage bag in a style I have been lusting after for many years, a few belts, and a necklace.... All for good prices. Go me!

So to Sunday, the day of the parade. Wow, what an overwhelming, beautiful, wonderful day that was! Meeting up with lots of friends we hadn't seen in such a long time, and of course, the parade itself was incredible to experience. I high fived so many kids along the route, and it was so lovely seeing their faces light up as they high fived!
We met up again with our amazing friends who made us the 'You Matter' pine cone which has resonated down the years (see the picture of the pine cone in my album August 2018 for the story) and it's always a privilege to see them, and the lovely Sue too, a friend we made when she saw the story of the pine cone here on Flickr.
I was emotionally drained by the time the parade was over though, so I didn't go back out into Leeds on the evening. But what a day. I'll remember it for ever!

It's tough to post these pictures while we're in Tier 3 and the restaurant is closed, but I'll power through! ;-)
This was a weekend of eating loads of fantastic food! This evening we were back at Cognac, the local Fench restaurant, eating food fit for princesses! :-) It was amazing, as it always is - the pork main dish we have is divine!

I swapped monitors with my mom and remade this... hopefully now there aren't any major flaws.
So for those of you who didn't get a chance to read my description yesterday, because I deleted these like 5 minutes after I posted them... I was playing around with Photoshop and came up with these three. I asked several people which one they liked the best (or hated the least), but all 3 pictures ended up with the same number of votes. So feedback is always appreciated.
Got my passport today... We're planning a trip in June to Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Russia. I'm probably going to spend my birthday in Lithuania, though I'm more excited about going to St. Petersburg in Russia.

Finished, Complete, I can't believe I have actually reached the end to be honest.
Yes that really is 364 photos (4x6) stuck on my wall with bluetack, we had to more the whole room about.
Before I rabble on a bit I would like to thank every single person who has looked, liked, favourited (is that a word), mentioned, commented on my photos, without you I would have stopped as a good comment does loads for encouragement and a bit for your self esteem also :).
Thank you everyone who has been in the photos, helped me setting up the photos and have dealt with me talking about the project for the last year (I'm sorry if I have bored you that was not the intention I promise, Maria mostly x)
So 365 Days or most of the time..1 Year.
I have been meticulously taking photographs on every day for the past 365 days, No "If's or But's" ..every single day I have set made sure that a shot was taken within that 24 hours period.
It's been fun, hard, frustrating, addictive, enjoyable, stressful, enlightening, educational, satisfying and rewarding, just to name a few.
I have tried my upmost to keep the pictures to a decent standard, as what I didn't want was half-assed photos and a boring set.
Originally I starting this project without much thought of the implications it has, which I came to realise soon after but I'm not one to give up, I started it to throw me in the deep end as although always enjoying taking photographs I had never owned a SLR, so in November of last year (16/11/2011) I purchased my very first digital SLR in the form of a Canon 600D with the standard kit lens (18-55mm).
I found myself enjoying photography more and more, day by day and this project has really taught me things I don't think I would have learned in this amount of time otherwise.
And after returning from honeymoon I ordered a 7D which is a great great piece of kit I would strongly recommend, nothing wrong with the 600D just more options. (5D MKIII next would be nice, I xmas is coming lol)
A warning to anybody with a new SLR or thinking about getting into photography -IT IS ADDICTIVE- I'm not sure which drug you can compare it to but I'm sure it's similar.
I have found myself since buying this camera itching for another piece of equipment, and subsequently spending all my "spare" cash on such things (fiance and now wife gives my evil eyes at such times).
This is not to say I wouldn't whole heartedly recommend getting a SLR and perhaps even doing a 365 project as it a great thing to do with your time if you have it.
Will I do another?
I doubt it, but you never know. I think I will focus on different projects rather than repeating a 365.
What's next?
More competitions, working on my website and services more and taking up other projects to keep me thinking.

We did these a couple of weeks earlier in preparation for Hallowe'en weekend, and what great fun they were to do!
Gemma worked her magic with her video editing skills, putting the clips together and making this brilliant clip - I absolutely love this!

Gemma came up to Hull for Hallowe'en weekend and we had a fantastic time!
Saturday night was such a brilliant social night - we met so many people and had the best time!
We started off at the Masters Bar but we were a bit in a corner there so it was difficult to meet people. So we headed on to The Star afterwards and really made up for it!
Dancing to a bit of electro-swing! This track is called Madame Coquette. A bit different and I love it - can't help but smile to this!

I am here all right just no time to post/visit/comment/fave/flickr/shoot... Grrrr... Gets so irritating sometimes... Anyway, here I am, just as usual, back after another break, trying new things, riding the learning curve and enjoying. :)
This PANO-VERTO-RAMA was stitched from 18 shots. And I had to had to get it like how I have.
Now for the history. This canon in this shot is "The Jaibaan". The BIGGEST canon on wheels in the world. Had never visited these forts in Jaipur after getting my DSLR so it was a good opportunity. I really wanted to do an ND110 on this but as usual, the sky was so clear it was all blue. and an ND110 just wouldn't have worked.
Anyway, too much talking for a shot. You either like it or you don't.
and yes, I do hope all of you are having an amazing time and have been busy producing amazing works of art.

UPDATE: Thank you so much for all the comments and faves. I really liked this shot when I had clicked this. But then slowly starting to like it not so much. I am pretty sure one of these days I am gonna post an edited/processed version of this shot again, and I promise it will be much better.

This was one of my all-time favourite Emily days!
What a glorious day it was, bank holiday weekend and Gemma was visiting so we decided to go for a day at the seaside, taking in Bridlington and Flamborough.
Gemma lives in Derby which is absolutely miles away from the coast, so it's not often she gets to go to the seaside!
It was only after Gemma pointed out to me later on, that I realised this was probably the most 'out' and visible we have ever been in the 'real world'. Bridlington was absolutely packed as you would expect on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend, so there really was no hiding place! Was another great boost for my confidence. There are not many places I would hesitate to go nowadays!

While we were down there we saw a couple of sea lions out in the bay too - so cute!
I’ve wanted to make some changes to the Toa Vihagu for a while now. I made a few changes in November/December of last year, but the bulk of modifications came in a two week stint before school started. The current updates are motivated by my possible displaying at BrickFair North Carolina next year, and if I’m going to be displaying these MOCs I want them to be as good as possible.
Which isn’t to say that I’ve made them as good as possible now. I’ve made some good progress, definitely but there’s still changes I intend to make between now and BFNC

Zerkah, the leader of the Vihagu, seemed as good a character as any to introduce the types of changes I’ve made (as you can see here, Jetera has changed very little.) He is, of course, based off the version I made in 2016, but with a few modifications:
*His torso now includes a more stable internal structure, based on Chrin’s. His lower torso is further filled in.
*The shells on his arms have been swapped.
*He now uses Jetera’s thigh design.
*He has a brand new pair of shins.
*The sockets on his feet have been swapped, and his feet have been further filled in.
*He now has a signature weapon, a battle-axe (which I designed last year.)
I originally wanted to remove the Mata red shells on his thighs in favor of Metru red ones, like I did with the forearms, but the size 5 shells were too small for his physique. Furthermore, he ended up looking very dull without the Mata red to brighten things up. I feel like I made a good compromise with swapping out his forearm plates, however. The “iron boot” that has been part of his design since V1 is now gone. Its final fate has not yet been determined – I think the concept adds to his character but I have yet to make a good-looking physical version.
I intend to further develop the shins and fill in most of the pinholes. I’d also like to give him a new head structure (namely one that has eyes).

The last of the January photos. I've managed to catch up a bit over the last few days for a change - it is always so easy to fall behind and build up a backlog.
One of my current faves, this grey dress is simple but sexy. One of the first dresses to go in my suitcase if I'm going away for a weekend anywhere.
Speaking of which, I have to go and get ready now for a weekend in Birmingham. I hope you all have a great weekend too, whatever you are doing! xx
