This comical pot bellied fat man was wearing a laughing mask and a monk's outfit. His bald head is usually blue in colour and his hand is wielding a fan. This light-hearted character often acts foolish and silly, making him very likeable to children. This particular one was a little unusual with large bandage across his head. What is the meaning of the bandage ? — at 33 53' 19.45" S 151 07' 28.70" E, Ashfield, Sydney, Australia.

The ever comical Kelso. Having fun with "wrong" focus points. This was accidental as i reached arround the tree and clicked but I think it works with Kelso's comical angle and expression
Amazing aerobatics by Kent Pietsch as he masterfully flew the "Jelly Bean" plane in the most unusual attitudes you could imagine!
Some very skillful flying hidden behind a comical routine.
Someone's video footage of this flight. Please note, parts of the plane detaching throughout the routine (aileron, tail wheel, etc.) - all part of the act - we hope!
A note for camera geeks - RAW is good!
I shoot exclusively in RAW, and for very good reason. This photo was completely overexposed, the wing was almost pure white. This was my fault though, I forgot to cancel exposure compensation from a previous shot.
I corrected the exposure by 2 full stops in the RAW Converter (Canon Digital Photo Professional) and it's amazing how much detail/colour was salvaged. You would not be able to come anywhere near this with JPG as it's an already compressed file format.
Just thought this was incredibly comical. I have seen this kind of thing happen on many occasions, but on this one, I had my camera.
From watching Buzzards above the moors near Harden Moss to following a heron on the canal with a few comical goats thrown in I didn't have a bad weekend really. The Buzzards seemed to appear out of nowhere as usual, moving fast and flying high they took a bit of tracking. The heron on the other hand took an hour to walk from the other side of the reservoir to a point close to me. it stopped at an awkward angle for me to photograph it without me moving and being seen. It then did a short flight to the canal, I moved and sat on a parapet wall above a deep drop in to a canal lock. The heron skipped over the canal and came so close that I had to lean back as far as I could without actually moving and being seen just to get the bird in the frame. At times I could only get partial shots. It them flew past me, almost brushing me and landed nearby on the towpath. Fortunately on this Saturday evening it was quiet and as it walked along the towpath I shadowed it at a distance, it flew in to the canal and was eventually frightened off by dogs. My arms were killing me I'd been holding the lens and camera in front of me non stop for an hour, fighting the cramp in my left arm. The things we do.
The goats on the wall top were a bit of a distraction as I followed three Buzzards messing around in a field near a farm in the afternoon and I snatched a few shots, the one behind was headbutting the others from behind to make them keep moving, very comical.
This guy was insistent on helping me place my order at the drive through at Starbuck's this morning......I love these birds....they are so funny and ingenious...

It's kind of comical that at one point it was acceptable to contrast out so much detail, but I was only following the norm at the time. I was home-printing in those days, too, and I'm sure I used the darkest filter possible to get this effect. Ilford paper (always), but I don't remember what grade.
I used an Olympus OM-1, a long lens, "always on" lighting, and a home-made reflector box to do head shots from a little apartment I had in Phoenix, AZ. I did this one of myself by setting the timer and running into place. Totally lucky shot, because I could only guess what part of my head would be in focus depending on how I was leaning. I love the semi-shallow depth of field, and I wish I remembered what lens I was using. I met lots of interesting aspiring models and actors, MOST of whom were also good to work with. Pageant moms were the worst by far.
Missy is still with me and I have to admit out of all the cats I have ever had in my life, she is THE most comical.
She sits and watches TV, chases the cursor on the computer screen, helps me "fix" the printer, "helps" me sweep the floor with the broom and still uses me as a racetrack.
Btw...the printer is toast. And I had NO idea it was that dirty either....don't look too closely!
Gotta go earn a living, I will see everyone later this evening....
