It became pleasantly warm and sunny as the afternoon went on. That's when I saw this wood pigeon perching on top of the hedge in the last of the sunshine of the day.
Ok This doesn't look like a full-length portrait...I think, I've got a mental block or something...Haven't clicked a pic for a while...So decided to upload this from my archives.

It's funny how comfortable the dogs of Oia are hanging out on walls above long, sheer drops. This guy was keeping a close eye out for a rival pet on another wall below. When the other dog showed up they barked furiously at each other and I thought for sure one or the other would fall off. But they seem to have a pretty good sense of what the limits are.
The other funny thing about the pets of Oia is that they are absolutely oblivious to tourists. I mean ABSOLUTELY. With about a million tourists wandering by all day long they could not care less about anyone other than their own people. It was very amusing to see how completely a dog could ignore you in close quarters, even if you were actively petting it. Have you ever petted a dog and gotten zero response? Note even a glance? I saw that several times in Oia. The only time dogs or cats in Oia showed even the slightest interest in us was if they were hungry and had any reason to think we might give them food. I really kind of admired that.
A side effect is that it's very easy to photograph a dog on the wall. They don't care what you're doing no matter how close you get.

I was looking for a nice sunrise shot at the local lake which didn't work out that day. Instead I got this pastel dream.

This quote resonates with me because I’m always more comfortable around nature than other people. While both are unpredictable, nature has no nefarious intentions, only pureness.
I have a notebook with me pretty much all of the time. Pocket sized ones like these are perfect for when I’m on the go and I love nature themes. These were done in collaboration with AllTrails, a site we find very useful!

It is really great to decorate the house with lots of different beautiful plants. Observing the growth of the plants can truly feel the magic of lives. Each life has its own texture, color and life cycle. I feel grateful to have them around me during such difficult time : )

This week was all about having a new hair cut and a new vision and new goals. And all of it feels so good and I can't wait to live this life right now. I can't even remember the last time I felt so comfortable with who I am and what I do and what I want.
Today I read the most amazing words by Nirrimi Firebrace (on cutting her hair) which were: “I didn’t have to be beautiful. At least not in the way society convinces me I should be." and these words so much reflect my thoughts when I cut my hair. My new hair cut is not beautiful. It is fresh and recognizable. And these facts make it so much more beautiful to me than what is said to be beautiful by the majorities.
Haha this is probably the most positiv description on one of my flickr photos ever :)

It lacks the element of focus I like to have in my work - but it's the only picture I have of that quintessential Key West spectacle: the drag queen with the wind blowing up his skirt. Owing to the auto-"focus" lag, the shutter just missed an angle that was more than I could have comfortably shared with you the viewer.
The saddle from my old Kona Dewdrop bike. It's a great bike. A bit old and it doesn't get out much now. The wide, fat saddle is very comfortable and far easier to draw than the saddle for a horse.

It was -10 on this Friday morning and surprisingly I had the place to myself.
Was so cold our Jet boat ride was cancelled as The Shot Over River was full of ice (-20 with windchill). I came back the next day for another crack to find the place full of togs (I think it was the OOAK team). Anyway apologies for taking 4 years to post a shot, I hope you like this one, it's on the road to Glenorchy.

Once upon a time Vin and I had started a roleplay world inspired by Jim Henson's Labyrinth; in particular what happened AFTERWARDS. We've decided to create the characters that inhabited this world of the Underground and its King/Queendoms, and bring them to life. It all started with Jareth and Sarah's children and their epic love stories...and it has epically continued on and on through the generations.
What this world means to Vin and me...it is more than words can say. We put our souls into this world and what it represents. But it is our pleasure and excitement to be able to bring them to life.
Being the third child of the High Queen Amalie and Prince Ciaran, Maeve knew at a young age that she was not destined to rule the Underground. She was a princess who liked to play in the mud and play 'pirates' which earned her the nickname: Captain Parrot.
As a little girl, Maeve was responsible for bringing her would-be-uncle Aric (who she dubbed 'Uncle Mister Aric Lion Man') from the human world to the Underground after she did a magic spell to find "the person who is going to make Uncle Corry the happiest!"
It would be years later that the seafaring captain and prince: Dante Frey who offered her the opportunity to join his crew on his bounty hunter/cargo ship: Starfish for a few months' time. It was the chance of adventure that she craved away from the Labyrinth and Goblin City! Little did she know this would be only be the beginning!
Maeve flourished and blossomed during her time at sea. She quickly found herself fitting in with the crew and being quite comfortable away from the comforts of her castle home. And as her love for the sea grew, so did her feelings for the roguish prince who captained the Starfish. And as it turned out, the feelings were very mutual...
Dante could see Maeve wanted more out of life than to be stuck in the castle; something he understood all too well. Having given up his own chance to be a king in exchange for his chosen life as a ship's captain, Dante could see that Maeve was cut from the same cloth.
And as he watched her quickly achieve her goals and dreams and saw how she truly came into herself, he began to fall in love with her. By the time Maeve was due to return home, neither of them wanted to say goodbye...but say goodbye they did.
Though it wasn't long before they were reunited again and Dante declared his love for Maeve; inviting her to join him on the Starfish until the end of their days. Maeve happily joined her beloved captain and truly lived her best life.
Dante and Maeve were among the most intimidating and fiercest fighters of their time and made sure the seas they loved were safe for the inhabitants of the Underground; a passion which passed onto their daughter and future generations of seafaring Freys to come.
