The next generation Shuvalovs have made a comeback to the court with a great afternoon of poetry (and much, much gossip) hosted by Grafinya Zinaida Shuvalova! The host seemed not as much touched by the late Tzarevna's passing.
Another comeback has also been made by one of the honorary members of the royal family Baryshnya Varvara von Engelhardt. She seemed quite unsettled when her uncle Grigory Potemkin’s name was ever mentioned. Can she regain the very top of Empress’ favour?

After years of sitting dormant in Ocala, FL, FCEN CF-7 #48 made a comeback in the summer of 2025. While only backup power, she is now active and used when needed. Here is the Ocala job bringing cars to the CSX interchange with the aforementioned "ugly duckling" taking charge with FCEN #4603, an ex- U.S. Army GP10 trailing.
I spent the better part of an hour watching as this Eastern Phoebe worked a shoreline of Horsepen Bayou, making a circuit of the driftwood branches, repeatedly launching after flying insects and returning to the same perch to eat them before moving on to the next station.
For a year celebrating the series 218 their comeback on the route between Hof and Leipzig. On the morning of 22.08.2010 rolled 218 390 with their N-car set by the station of Reuth (Vogtland) with its beautiful cast-iron pedestrian bridge, which probably fell victim to the electrification of the track.

Once heavily hunted for its valuable skin but now protected, Brazil's yacare caiman is striding back in gratifying numbers. In Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Brazil
I haven't shot the L572 in a while, so when I saw this I had to get a shot. With only seconds to spare I was able to capture this near Big Lake in Council Bluffs.
This might have been a shed or a garage. It seems that there may have been an outhouse connected to it.
Another thing that interested me about this rural yard is that there was disorganized junk everywhere (most not shown here), but the three mini tractors are lined up in a orderly row.
This is what it looks like when winter is trying to make a comeback, it never lasts that long though.
From a year ago, right now it's way too warm for such things.
These roof tiles have been there forever, not sure why. I think it must make a great hideout for wildlife.
In the stadium tunnel after Buffalo's comeback win over Baltimore. 9/7/25
This guy had a high five for just about everyone to come down the hall.
Josh Allen led Buffalo to three scores in the final four minutes, the last a 32-yard field goal by Matt Prater as time expired, and the Bills rallied from 15 points down to stun the Baltimore Ravens 41-40 in a season-opening Sunday night thriller.
Buffalo scored 16 points in the last 3:56, with Prater’s kick capping a nine-play, 66-yard drive over the final 1:26.

Hopefully this will be I definite comeback for me here, it has been quite a while..
Anyway, photography still is a great passion, this one I made in the Westfjords during a truly amazing week in Iceland. Many many more shots to come from this trip.
And yes, I will catch up with you!
Desert spoon or sotol, about 9 months after the Bighorn Fire in June 2020. In Catalina State Park north of Tucson. The tan parts of the leaves were killed by the fire. Since they grow from the base, the leaf is still alive. Looks like the ones closest to the outside are the last to recover (if at all) and start to move on.
