Crafty Cold War make and take beneath the 1960s BOAC Boeing 707 fuselage.
50 years after the Cuban Missile Crisis, the National Museum of Flight will take you back in time to experience what life was like in the middle of the Cold War.
Find out more about the Cold War Experience here.
Visited my old house mate today. Felt nostalgic being in my old house, room, neighborhood, local pub... I miss it. Went into town that night for dinner at a tapas bar I've been wanting Steve to go to. OoOo it was so nice! Although this garlic sauce I had was like coming out of my pores the rest of the night! lol. It was so strong, but so good.
It was like -1C last night too, omg. Absolutely freezing. It's been artic temperatures here! Frost on the ground well throughout the day. However, still managed to take a few snaps... no tripod, hence the lack of focus, blurriness... and well, I guess I'm just in the mood to over process ;)
Also.. there was a light on over a doorway, just opposite where this was taken, hence the highlight on the right pillar... want to maybe go back and cover it up to reshoot this, but not sure since it's private property hehe ;D
Day .26.
oh, and p.s.... I was trying to model the bag? lol It was a Christmas present from Steve's mum, and I absolutely love it!
The raft at 7 a.m., sealed up against the cold.
Mad Mariner writer Lenny Rudow spent 24 hours in a liferaft -- and reported the experience live on Twitter (#raft) in a story on Mad Mariner. The photos from the exercise were posted here on Flickr. So Yay I posted for once :) Sorry I suck I know :) but anyway today myself and my friend Sophie went photoing, we went to these old stables that had old chairs and fridges and a collection of New Zealand Beer Cans. Officially my new fave place :)
i found a spot of sunlight on the kitchen floor
what i wanted was an apple, but my feet found this place of warmth
on a cold lanolium floor.
i stood there for a long time
feeling so much through the souls of my feet.
Then my toes grew cold. The sun had moved, as the sun does.
I followed the sun, moving west.
Until the room filled with light.
And my feet grew cold again.
It was Halloween. I got out of the house so I wouldn't have to put up with the dog's barking whenever the doorbell rang. I froze my hands numb, but it was worth it :)
Oh, and the looks you get from old men on weird roller skates while you hold a toy camera are hilarious.
Didn't get too much done over the last few days as I've been working with the degree students on their proposals.
Started putting this trim around the "proscenium arch" of the box and relised that I've gone about it ALL wrong!
This should have been applied before the box was cut. Consquently, the edges are warping with the heat (silver/steel bi-metallic) and making it very difficult to keep true.
Around Frankfurt, there's heaps of cold war relicts. helipads, rocket batteries or, like this, an old tank training ground. I'm not sure if, in retrospect, that all should have made me feel safe or worried...
Eps10. Realistic vector design. Most of elements are placed in groups to make artwork easy editable. Color transparency used to define color, so it can be changed just in few steps. Enjoy!
Ever since I was a kid I'd heard that when it gets really cold outside water will actually freeze before it hits the ground. Tonight in Saskatoon SK the temperature hit -40 Celsius (same as -40F at this point) and a quick web search said this is around the temperature needed for this to happen.
The secret is you actually have to use boiling water because when you throw it up it turns first to steam the almost instanty to a flour like substance.
I don't know how well it came across in the video but it sounded really weird, sort of a sizzling/buzzing sound.
Hopefully next time it gets this cold it will be during daylight hours so it will be easier to film.
No tricks here, its just damn cold!!!
