The Inglewood and Glendale based troops from the California Army National Guard's 1-160th Infantry, HHC and B Co. units, conduct a dry-run of their assault on their Operation Red Snow objective Feb. 15, 2012, while still in the safety of the U.S. Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center. The troops acclimated over six days planning, adjusting, testing and learning before getting the final word to suit up at 8 p.m. They would be transported into the wilderness and dropped off in a starry night with temps dipping into the teens. Teams would ascend 1000 feet over snow fields, crossing streams, climbing ravines, all while staying perfectly quiet and using no light except the moon and their night vision devices. They would converge on the terrorist camp at 2 a.m. with frozen water bladders and eager for action. Here an unidentified Soldier listens to the assault plan given by the platoon and squad leaders. Of cold that gathers
Like winter's tongue
Among the shadows..."

My new girl arrived today, more than one month after the Convention, and she was totally worth the wait. I regret not buying a duplicate when I was in Orlando, as Eugenia is one of my favorite sculpts!!! Now I am looking to buy a head, if someone is selling one, please FM me.
Cold Stone Creamery is an American-based ice cream parlor chain. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the company is owned and operated by Kahala, L.L.C.[1][2] The company's main product is premium ice cream, or ice cream made with approximately 12–14% butterfat,[3][4] that is made on location and customized to order for customers at the time of purchase. Cold Stone has also expanded its menu with other ice cream related products such as ice cream cakes, pies, cookie sandwiches, smoothies, shakes and iced & blended coffee.
Since 2008, the company has been co-branding its locations with other chains in an attempt to increase its presence outside the United States and open up its business model from the traditional summertime season to a more year-round one.
The pack mentality of these sleighs reminded me of Nighteyes. But then I realise that they also represent cold, so I declare my themes done in one fell swoop. I never thought conceptual art could be that useful...
While shooting a Senior Thesis film in the hills of Ashville North Carolina, we encountered some surprisingly annoying onlookers. I was amazed at how curious these animals were with our presence in their field. They skiddishly sniffed all of our gear and were determined to make it into the shot.

the lettuce and spinach i planted in here had sort of paused growing when it got cold. it didn't die, but just stopped growing. with the warm spell we've had this past week, it has started growing again.
so that's how i think it's probably going to go. i think we'll be able to keep these greens alive until spring, but i'm not sure they're going to produce enough to pick regularly. hopefully adding the lights/heat will give them the boost they need? we'll see.

Skater on a bright cold Saturday morning on Norrviken ("North Lake") near Stockholm. A lap around is about 21 kilometers. This is great exercise. The ice appeared about as thick as big sofa cushion.
The following 14 photos—10 actually inside the exhibit and four more around the hotel prior to me retrieving my DSLR—were taken by Jeff with his camera. I chose not to bring mine in, not knowing how 9° air would affect it. I would have loved lots more photos and we had plenty of opportunities to take them. As I feared, though, the cold pretty much zapped the life out of Jeff's batteries. We were lucky to squeeze off the shots we got.
