Ropley shed and 34007 is just warming up as 850 passes in the background and 45379 waits, cold, in the yard
This is along the roadside between the town (population 10) that I grew up in and the town my mom lives in now, where, according to the Chamber information, "13,500 friendly people live". I've been traveling on this road my entire life - in all likelihood, came home from the hospital when I was born on this road! It seems so mundane but still, with my camera in hand, it looks so interesting . . . . and cold! We were lucky while we were there, no blizzards, no storms, not even much snow. Those tiny rolling hills definitely have a home feel to them but am still thrilled on a daily basis to have Mount Rainier in my backyard now.

Stockholm Monday afternoon in January and the sun sets very early. Very cold too. Beautiful sunsets makes life a bit easier though.
had a sudden desire to knit something very cheesy and seasonal and winged this over the holidays. The addition of well-fitting arse shaping is the bit I'm most pleased with. This is not for a pattern - just a wee treat for me.
The whole house is down with a cold, so I couldn't think of anything else when I saw the challenge "Cold"!
BDC - Cold
My index finger was so cold I had to look at it when I took this picture. I cold not feel the shutter-button.
Tracy Arm, Alaska
Named after Civil War General Benjamin Franklin Tracy, Tracy Arm is one of the most beautiful fjords in Southeastern Alaska. The fjord’s floating ice, breathtaking views, and resident wildlife including occasional bears, seals, and a variety of birds, make it one of the most talked-about scenic destinations for travelers to Alaska. Accessible only by plane, ship or boat, the fjord covers 653,179 acres and is located 72km south of Juneau, the capital of Alaska. The entrance to Tracy Arm is located five miles north of mile marker 900 in John Upton’s Alaska Cruise Handbook. The North Sawyer and South Sawyer Glaciers are located at the end of Tracy Arm; however the path to view these glaciers is blocked by impassable large floating pieces of ice. Nevertheless, the mountainous walls, resident wildlife, steep waterfalls and native vegetation make for spectacular photographs.

The day started early with de-icing and progressed with a runway closure, a flight check aircraft, helicopter training flights and military aircraft.... on top of a very low staffing day. One of the longest days I can remember in the recent past. Get to do it all over again in the morning! Woo Hoo! That third beer is going taste good tomorrow afternoon... since I won't even taste the first two :-D
