Yesterdays beautiful Sunrise, had a hot cup of tea, sparkling cold frost everywhere and the most stunning scenery, have a great Tuesday everyone :)

In case you haven't guessed, this is a ice cube melting on a dark kitchen counter. For Hot or Cold HMM.

Nothing like the weather we are having (well above freezing and rain)

Last winter I was heading out of town and noticed some huge snowdrifts along the highway. So I took the next exit and spent half an hour trying, in vain, to find equally cool snowdrifts along some farm roads. This was the only image that I captured. Moments later, it started to snow really hard, and obliterated the entire landscape

On a cold winter day.

I can only imagine how beautiful must be this valley under a blue sky...

Warm Heart

I left Aaron at 7.30am to go and catch the school bus, it was blizzarding outside really hard and everytime I tried to get out of bed, Aaron tightened his vice-like grip around me. It was torture. i was in school for a total of 1.15hrs, before the snow got so bad I had to go home.

So I got home and we decided to make fajitas and brownies with cranberries in them (thanks Aaron's mom for sending them across!) and then we went hill climbing to my favourite hill! This was probably the most horrifically cold shoot I've ever done. I was freezing. Aaron was freezing, and he was in a big Michelin Man coat, scarf, gloves, hat, everything!!

I fell over like 60 times and Aaron didn't fall once. He captured it on video at one point, so we'll post that on the blog later tonight! You can see how hard it is snowing!

It is so awesome to have him here, I am the happiest person in the world right now. We are going out for food materials tonight, yum!

And a before and after for ClaireBear is now up on our blog! :)

A few hours of wind and bitter cold can be a dramatic change ... Nasty cold froze my little fingers on friday afternoon !

It was indeed very cold

What a beautiful sunrise, a cold and misty morning at home as the suns rays cut through the trees

Something about the cold and lonely look as he stood there in the winter wind and cold just grabbed my heart. It was snowing and the snow was sticking to his fur.

The surreality of high dynamic range photography gives 'life' to the dry and deep cold of that winter day.

And it's not a beer!

This is my photo, but I totally 'borrowed' the processing inspiration from Tom Baker. His photo is still far better than mine, but I decided to post this anyway as it was the one that I really wanted to turn out!

Thanks Tom!

Cold air moving over the open sea cools the warmer air layer at just above the water surface and the excess water condenses as sea smoke.

...but fortunately the days start get longer and warmer bit by bit.

UP 8464 leads train MCXPB south underneath the MoPac signals at S. Dupo. A little bit of snow remains from a couple days ago, as well. Not long after this shot was taken, those nuisance clouds decided to roll back in, as they always do. Glad I was able to sneak this one in.

It took a lot of luck and technique to pull off this shot without getting a mouthful of abuse. It also took quite a fair bit of courage given a couple of unpleasant encounters recently. Such a striking image that brought some song lyrics to mind. The song Full of Grace by Sarah McLachlan... "The winter here's cold and bitter, It's chilled us to the bone, We haven't seen the sun for weeks, Too long too far from home..."

Though the temperature of 10º Celsius is not really low compared to snowing countries, it is still called "cold current" in Taiwan. I stayed at home and avoid being outdoor in such a cold and rainy day.

攝氏十度對很多下雪的國家而言,實在不算是冷,但是對台灣而言,就已經是「寒流」等級。

當然,我這怕冷的,完全避免出門,在家翻舊庫存。
