Cold sunrise.
I couldn't resist a quick visit to the Loch Lomond tree this morning. -8 degrees but some lovely light. Not my usual or preferred type of image but it's nice to try different things.
The colours are as they were and un altered from the raw file.
Please feel free to comment and critique as you see fit.
Cold is the night
Lonely till dawn
Cry for the light
For the love that won't come
You said that you'd never
Leave me alone
I gave you my heart
You cried for my soul

Photo taken on a cold winter morning in Central Park, New York City, after a fairly recent snowfall of about 8 inches. Although the temperature was cold, it made for a refreshing walk and a nice change of pace from temperatures in Texas.
The idea for this image was the chair pose from flashdance. I found this pose in the marketplace and worked with the water splash.

Tourists in jackets, bright and bold,
Flock to the beach on a day so cold.
Wind whips the sand in a wild, chilly dance,
Seeking the sun's warmth in winter's expanse.

This refinery has legs. Often called the world’s most travelled refinery, the Strathcona refinery has made its way through hill and valley, war and peace, and through the ebbs and flows of Canada’s oil industry.
When the company discovered oil in Leduc in 1947, Alberta’s oil industry began to happen. The refinery made its way from Whitehorse on barges, trucks, rail and ice-roads to find its final home on the outskirts of Edmonton.
Today, a more modern version of the refinery provides products for Canada and the Northern U.S., and is one of the most safe, reliable and profitable refineries in North America.

You're as cold as ice
You're willing to sacrifice our love
You never take advice
Someday you'll pay the price, I know
I've seen it before
It happens all the time
Closing the door
You leave the world behind
You're digging for gold
Yet throwing away
A fortune in feelings
But someday you'll pay
You're as cold as ice
You're willing to sacrifice our love
You want paradise
But someday you'll pay the price, I know
I've seen it before
It happens all the time
Closing the door
You leave the world behind
You're digging for gold
Yet throwing away
A fortune in feelings
But someday you'll pay
You know that you are
(Cold as ice)
As cold as ice to me
(Cold as ice)
You're as cold as ice
Cold as ice I know
Yes, I know
You're as cold as ice
Cold as ice I know
Oh, yes I know
You're as cold as ice
Cold as ice I know
Oh, yes I know
Song: [ youtu.be/mjwV5w0IrcA ]
“Love leaped out in front of us like a murderer in an alley leaping out of nowhere, and struck us both at once. As lightning strikes, as a Finnish knife strikes! She, by the way, insisted afterwards that it wasn’t so, that we had, of course, loved each other for a long, long time, without knowing each other, never having seen each other… ”
Mikhail Bulgakov, The Master and Margarita
„Die Liebe sprang uns entgegen wie ein Mörder in einer Gasse, der aus dem Nichts auftaucht, und traf uns beide gleichzeitig. Wie ein Blitzschlag, wie ein finnisches Messer! Sie bestand übrigens später darauf, dass es nicht so gewesen sei, dass wir uns natürlich schon seit langer, langer Zeit geliebt hätten, ohne uns zu kennen, ohne uns jemals gesehen zu haben ...“
Mikhail Bulgakov, The Master and Margarita
