Large cogs on a steamer type machine in Sydney Park, Newtwon, Sydney Australia. Then I used the HDR process to get the effect.
Relief of a hanseatic cog (medieval trading ship) on the gable of a house in Untertrave, Hanseatic City Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
The old city center of Lübeck is in great parts inscribed in the World Heritage List of the UNESCO, but this part of the town doesn't belong to the inscribed zone. A plan of the zones can be found here: whc.unesco.org/download.cfm?id_document=102311
A broken pocket watch, a cog discovered underneath the dining table, some bokeh, and a Wednesday? What else could I have posted? :)
Is anyone else noticing contact issues? Non-appearing photo's again / lots of hiccups?
This bridge spans the Frser River between Boston Bar and North Bend, BC. Officialy opened by then Provincial Highways Minister Alex Fraser in January 1986 and replaced the North Bend Aerial Ferry.
Although this photograph isnt the sharpest, i still love it because of the bassist expression. The rhythm section is totally kicking arse!
this is the cog railroad track in grindelwald, dropping off a bit steeper than you would expect from a regular railroad. the technology is kind of primitive, but gets the job done.

Late addition to my Climbing Mt. Washington, 1969 album.
When we finally reached the summit, the cog-railway train was just about to leave -- but the guy selling tickets had closed up shop! This was not only the last train of the day, but the last until the following spring -- six months later! We had to beg the ticket-seller to open up again. He did, and we got our ride down the mountain. Our climb up Mt. Washington was over. What a day!
Taken October 12, 1969 with a Kodak Instamatic camera.
Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail
The Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail begins at the Base Road parking lot (2500 feet). It travels at first with easy to moderate grades, though the footway is rough, up to Gem Pool (3450 feet), 2.1 miles from the parking area. From this point on the trail travels up the headwall of Ammonoosuc Ravine, which is continually steep, rough, with sometimes slabby rock, and several stream crossings. The trail reaches treeline a short distance below the Appalachian Mountain Club's Lakes of the Clouds Hut (at 5012 feet), which is 3.1 miles from the parking lot. The Hut is usually open from about early June to early September, and is closed at all other times. Overnight lodging and meals are available on a reservation basis (see below). Public restrooms, and basic snacks and trail supplies are also available. The Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail ends here – follow the Crawford Path northward for 1.4 miles (passing several junctions with other trails) to the summit of Mount Washington (6288 feet) at 4.5 miles (3800 feet of elevation gain).
