My 365 for today is a mobile (s6) shot of a little gift I have received, in the form of a bag of cogs and gears. I'm planning on using them in a Steampunk costume shoot for a friend. Really surprised at the quality of them and look forward to adding them to future projects.
Edited on mobile. Cropped, tonal contrast, B/W conversion using noir filter in snapseed app.

The Cog Railway on its way up Mount Washington, in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. The cog runs late spring through fall, bringing tourists to the top of the highest peak in the Northeast. The Cog made its first trip up the mountain in 1869.
These punk costume cogs are obviously varying sizes, but the largest is 1 inch in dia.

Happy Macro Monday folks !!
Flaylay still life of three old bike cogs - shot on my garage floor (that's the background) and lit only with handheld torch (i.e. light painted)

Wonderful start to the year with Le Millipede and light art by Genelabo in the UTE Community Space!
When the ensemble Le Millipede plays its way through the programme with magical ease, it creates moments for eternity, with wonderful melodies and harmonies. The musicians pass the balls to each other, suddenly play freely, only to return to the actual composition in the next moment and continue as a harmonised unit, like a machine in which one cog meshes with the other. A machine with soul.
We know jazz trombonist Mathias Götz from Hochzeitskapelle, G.Rag, The Notwist, Alien Ensemble, Lovebrain & Diskotäschchen and Co! ‘Le Millipede’ means centipede, he is the head, body and foot of the ensemble.
Besetzung:
Mathias Götz – Posaune
Stefan Schreiber – Baritonsaxophon / Klarinet
Sascha Lüer – Trompete
Andreas Hirth – Geige / Gitarre
Genelabo - visuals

These are the wooden cogs and wheels that interlink, and make the sails on the Lacey Green Smock Windmill rotate. They are huge and very impressive.
After a summer of dsissapointing steam pictures I decided to give it one more go.
I went to Cogload Junction this morning to see what I could come up with.
Having remembered my camera Pete, I set up the shot hoping for clouds of billowing steam and smoke as she rounded the corner from Westbury.
No steam on this occasion but evidence of her working hard with a trail of grey smoke.
Looking good in the morning sunlight is 60009 running 15 mins late with the 0800 Bristol to Kingswear at Cogload Junction.
