Long ago, before I was born, my mom and dad used to salvage old glass from buildings that were being demolished. This is one of those pieces. It has taken a while and a few false starts, but our friend Mark is on the task of making the table part. It's cherrywood.
It's going to be beautiful.

Drink in a Moroccan evening with the Plisse Coffee Table. Wrapped entirely in eco-leather, the tempered glass tabletop of this ottoman is removable, revealing hidden internal storage. Turn the glass top over to expose its eco-leather side. Handcrafted by artisans, the gathered pleats around the sides of the pouf table are expertly tailored.
A dumpling-ful dinner. Pork siu mai, prawn and chive dumplings, sticky rice in lotus leaves, and pak choi with oyster sauce. That's soursop juice drink in the glass.
I made this about 5 years ago when I had a furniture design class at Marshall University. It's maple and walnut. The base is 9 pieces of maple, cut at 10 degrees each, to make the arch. Alot of work on the arch.

Don't throw out old bed frames! Instead, use those decorative posts as a feature like on this Reclaimed Pallet Side Table! Add a faux aged finish, in any color to match your decor, and it's a winner!
This Reclaimed Pallet Side Table Has Upcycled Bed Frame Post Legs!
First I cut up all my pallets using a Sawzall reciprocating saw. I find that prying causes more damage and breakage. Next, I built the frame using the pallet stringers. I cut the bed posts to size and installed them. Once completed, I finished the top with deck boards, installing them with glue and brad nails. To finish, I used a dark blue paint on the top, let it dry and covered with a crackle medium blue tone and impatiently waited for it to dry. I sanded typical locations for wear with a piece of sandpaper and then coated it all with a water-based Varathane (the type for hardwood floors works best).
