The mosaic finished and grouted. The inspiration was the Austrailian Aboriginal artist Maxine Famagalli's wonderful "Turtle and Goanna Dreaming." If I was starting it again I'd do it differently and, yes, some of the grout still needs cleaning up!

Verre central avec vue sur un tiroir à casiers permettant de disposer et présenter différents objets, perles, photos, pierres, coquillages, etc. Les pieds de la table sont en métal galvanisé récupérés dans un stock de déchets industriels.

Well, actually through the coffee table glass. Mili was looking up and waiting for a piece of cheese. Notice the beautiful floor her business end is resting on. That floor was the source of much chaos a couple of weeks ago. I think it was worth the upheaval.
Oh, and if you think that coffee table looks like it was nabbed from a whore house, you should see the lamp we have in the living room. My mother-in-law (may she rest in peace) had some swanky taste back in the 1960s. Personally, I love 1960s decor.

I used wood from pallet to build tabletop. With all scratches and sign of use - that's what I like the most - and bleached in next step. Then I found old table legs and I decided to refresh them. What is result? You can check on photos! :)

This is my FIRST woodworking project ever!
For the top I used pallet wood and for the legs I used some scrap lumber, that you can see sitting in the back of the first pic.
This is a coffee table top that I rescued from the junk wood pile at work. It's about an inch thick. I have applied a stripping agent made by 3M that claims 'low odor' and 'no gloves required (!). I wonder what they think my hands are made from?

I made a coffee table, used rosewood, teak and oak stain to obtain the color then varnished it with eggshell varnish.

This door spent the last 15 years on my workshop but prior to that was salvaged from a 100+ year old farmhouse, prior to being razed, on a friend's property. I miter cut the ends and used the waste wedges from the miter cut to support the insides of the 'foldover' corners. I left every scratch, crack, ding and nail hole it earned in its centenary of service, and treated it with teak oil.

Here's another group picture with the Glass Top Coffee Table that matches our two lamp tables. The Coffee Table is 40 inches square and stands 18 inches high with metal base and 1/2 inch glass on the top.
Placed atop the Coffee Table is a neat Rattan Lamp Table or Stand. It's 20 inches high and 25 inches in diameter.
