Price Residence - Our client contacted us to build several pieces of furniture all from the same tree. This tree once stood on her Skagit property. It was cut down in 1984 by her son and was stored in their Skagit barn until she spoke to us about this special project.

I can finally close the book on my quest for acquiring a Leica thanks to Santa. I am therefore now a proud owner of an immaculate M3 along with a Summicron 50mm.
The above image of the table set for coffee goes into the history books as my first keeper shot with the above combination. The cake on the plates by the way is an example of masterful Swiss pastry: the Engadiner Nusstorte.
My experiences with the Leica so far are positive. It's maybe a tad heavier than I would have liked but it oozes craftmanship that puts to shame anything that I have handled so far. The viewfinder is bright but I find focusing actually a little more difficult than with most other rangefinders. It does however feature parallax correction that actually works and that corrects both in vertical and horizontal direction.
It has a cloth shutter just like any traditional SLR which means it's not as quiet as a Yashica 35 or a Canonet but still sufficiently quiet. No doubt that the Leica will be my camera of choice over the course of the next weeks after which I should have more meaningful things to say about it.
Shot on Delta 100 and developed in Adonal/Rodinal (1+25 for 9 minutes). Needless to say, the camera rested on a tripod and the M3 fortunately works with a standard cable release.

This coffee table is a prime example of the contemporary style of coffee tables that were at one time so popular and are once again becoming a favourite amongst consumers. Check out this gorgeous Euro Pallet Walnut Coffee Table! This only used two Euro pallets, and took about 10 hours to build.
My Euro Pallet Walnut Coffee Table:
I disassembled most of one pallet and saved the best Walnut deck boards. I used the stringers from the 2nd pallet and stacked them onto the first to give my table some height. I then created a frame for the table top and used the walnut deck boards to fill it, putting them flush against one another. I carefully rounded over the edges as I sanded. I sanded everything; the blocks, the lower and center deck boards, and the top very well.
After I had sanded everything, I applied a medium-toned stain to highlight the gorgeous wood grain of the walnut boards and blocks. I have a sleek, modern Euro Pallet Walnut Coffee Table that didn't cost me anything but some time and effort. I'm proud of the way it turned out!
