Just as it was at a table outside of the Winter Gardens in Sunderland. Made me think of Durer's Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Check out this gorgeous Euro Pallet Walnut Coffee Table! This only used two Euro pallets, and took about 10 hours to build.
My Euro Pallet Walnut Coffee Table:
I disassembled most of one pallet and saved the best Walnut deck boards. I used the stringers from the 2nd pallet and stacked them onto the first to give my table some height. I then created a frame for the table top and used the walnut deck boards to fill it, putting them flush against one another. I carefully rounded over the edges as I sanded. I sanded everything; the blocks, the lower and center deck boards, and the top very well.
After I had sanded everything, I applied a medium-toned stain to highlight the gorgeous wood grain of the walnut boards and blocks. I have a sleek, modern Euro Pallet Walnut Coffee Table that didn't cost me anything but some time and effort. I'm proud of the way it turned out!

WOW, this Rough-Finished Chunky Pallet Coffee Table is outstanding! Highlight the natural beauty of rough-hewn wood by featuring it in a classic way!
Rough-Finished Chunky Pallet Coffee Table:
First, I took three pallets apart and separated the better boards. Next, I made the top. I laid out the boards face down and framed them out. I used more deck boards to butt-join and formed the legs and secured with lag bolts/nuts. Then I added more structural support by using more deck boards to create a lower frame near the feet of the table. I stained it with Jacobean and only needed one coat. I allowed the stain to dry and then applied a total of four coats of polyurethane, lightly sanding between coats with 220-grit sandpaper. Additionally, I only applied two coats of polyurethane on the sides and legs.

This is the initial concept design for a hangar bay that fits inside PureDisplay's UCS Falcon, and a framework that surrounds it. The design is meant to fit inside Ikea's Liatorp rectangular coffee table (legs need to be amended to fully fit by about 4mm eacch side)

Curly Maple top is veneered in sequence over quarter-sawn poplar staves. Tops are edged with solid maple, holding continuous grain around the circumference of table, as well as book matched to top and bottom pieces. The tambour side slides 360 degrees around the table. The "half French" through drawer is accessible from either side by moving the tambour to the corresponding location. Table holds two compartments at either end behind the tambour. Awarded - Woodcraft Magazines, Excellence in Design award.
In his words, "The material I use is Certified sustainable lumber and when and where it is applicable I use localy harvested and milled woods. The tambour table along with all other furniture pieces I make, don't use plywood. I create my own substrates from solid wood and cross laminated veneers. The glue I use is non toxic and doesn't off-gas. There are no staples, nails, laquers, or eurethanes. I make my own schellac and waxes. Even the canvas on the back of the tambour is unbleached and organic."
I try to rotate the magazines on my coffee table every month or so. Usually I wait until I get my new issue of Elle Decor!
I made this coffee table to be a show off, not to play chess. It is made with oak, maple and sapele. This is my personal table and I plan on keeping it. I could always make another one but it is not fun making the same thing twice.

The colours red, white and blue are replaced with oak, maple and walnut in this low coffee table.
The design of the flag is wrapped around the sides as seen in the images. The table has been designed to be flat pack with the legs unscrewing and bolting to the underneath of the table top. Therefore making it very easy to send.
Sadly, this table did not make it to its new home in one piece. Settling the claim was painful. I should have kept it for myself! I loved it!
116/365: I love Starbucks. I can't help having a tall non fat latte every time I travel to a foreign country. And I know, here in Venezuela the coffee is superb (and maybe way better) but I just love the whole Starbucks concept: cute cups, great pastry, lovely music, and the most cozy sofas.

He slipped and fell into the river during the shoot while taking a meter reading for me, along with a light meter, ouch. On a plus side, he managed to keep the Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro and me just recently purchased AF Nikkor 50mm f1.4 dry.
I need to get a new lightmeter anyway, so no biggie (but still an 'ouch!' tho!)
