Photograph taken at an altitude of Four metres at 15:11pm on Saturday 13th May 2023 from the paved walkway at Patricia Bay , a body of salt water that extends East from the Saanich Inlet and forms part of the North Saanich shoreline in the District of North Saanich in British Columbia.
It features a beautiful park which is at the south end of the Scoter Trail. Formerly known as Union Bay, the bay was named after Princess Patricia of Connaught, daughter of the Duke of Connaught who was Governor General in 1912.
Here we look upwards towards Holy Trinity Church.
This beautiful wooden Anglican church was originally constructed in 1885 and consecrated by the first Bishop of Columbia, Tt. Rev. George Hills. It cost $1200 CAD to build and originally seated 150. The bell tower was added in 1889. Electric lights appeared in 1948 and further enlargements followed in 1954. Currently in September 2019 the Rector of the church is The Venerable Penelope A.Kingham.
The land was originally settled by the Tseycum First Nation (Union Bay Indian Reserve No.4) , one of four Saanich villages of Southern Vancouver Island in the area and part of the Northern Straits Coast Salish language group.
In the Sencoten langauge Tseycum is spelled Wsikem and means Land of Clay. The languages spoken include Lkwungen, Malchosen, Semiahmoo, SENĆOŦEN andT’Sou-ke and in 2023 the Chief is Tanya Jimmy, who was elected in July 2019. The Tseycum people have five reserves located at:
Bare Island 9, Goldstream 13, Pender Island 8, Saturna Island 7 and Union Bay 4.

Ashira Blau, Surf's Israel Sales Manager, displays the SurfRider/AMC multimedia processing DSP resource board at the VON Israel show, held in Airport City Oct 14-15.
It took three days to get the video projection working. At first, I tried using a USB STICK plugged directly into my Epson projector as I thought my projector would play video from a USB STICK. It did not as it only displays photos and some documents from a USB STICK.
So I researched online and found their are a few EPSON models that do let you to play video off of a USB STICK. So I bought one, but it still did not work because EPSON requires a very old video codec be used, one that I can't actually convert too (I tried using PremierePro as well as WonderShare UniConverter among other programs) but none of the programs supported converting to the first generation codec that was required. So I ended up returning the new projector.
Ultimately I did use my older projector, but plugged my SONY BLU-RAY player into it, and that projector actually had a USB port, which accepted my USB STICK and the original videos on it (which were MPEGs). Why EPSON can't get its projectors to accept a wider range of commonly used codecs is beyond me. I have several inexpensive small electronic picture frames that accept a wider range of file types than the EPSON projectors do.

Talked about codec selection today at the meeting. The politics at these meetings drive me insane.
After the meeting I got to take another long walk around the town and found some cool stuff—a neat dance poster, a rad laundromat, and several condom dispensers (?).
And then I ate delicious gnocchi with beef and had an enormous macaron for dessert. Wonderful.

Stronger winds were able to pull the camcorder up for about 30 minutes. All 1000ft of cord was played out and I chased the camera until it fell. And it did. And I missed it by like an inch (even though I dove for it!) But, its ok!.

After watching the entire video I have a new appreciation for where I live. The Palouse is so beautiful but its difficult to see from below the hilltops. I can't wait to get more footage!

Photograph taken at an altitude of T20 metres at 12:11pm on Tuesday 23rd May 2023 in Island View beach, a fifty one hectare regional park located on Island View Road and Homathko Road with a beautiful stretch of coastline along the Eastern shore of the Saanich Peninsula and panoramic views of Haro Strait, James Island and Mount Baker over in Whatcom County, Washington State, USA.
It is roughly twenty kilometres from downtown Victoria, seventeen kilometers from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and twelve kilometres from Victoria airport. The District of Central Saanich is situated on the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ people which includes W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip) and SȾÁUTW̱ (Tsawout) First Nations who all signed the Saanich Indian Territorial Declaration.
The W̱SÁNEĆ People are Salt Water People who traditionally had homes throughout the San Juan Islands, east and north coasts of the Saanich Peninsula, the Gulf Islands, northeast across Georgia Strait to Boundary Bay, the Saanich Inlet and forest lands, PKOLS (Mount Douglas), W̱QENNELEȽ (Mt. Finlayson) and SELE₭TEȽ (Goldstream and it's provincial park).

The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus Leucocephalus), derives it's name from the Greek for 'Sea eagle', and the 'bald' denotation actually derives from an older meaning of 'white headed'.Bald Eagles can be up to forty inches in length with a wingspan up to seven and a half feet and can weigh up to 6.3kgs. The females are generally 25% larger than the males.

Niagara Falls or Golden Niagara Falls is a waterfall in Niagara Canyon, part of Niagara Creek in Goldstream Park near Langford, British Columbia, Canada. It drops 47.5 metres (156 ft) down a narrow gully into a pool and a flowing creek and is roughly the same height as it's more famous namesake.

Here we see a solitary Greylag Goose (Anser anser), which when fully adult can measure up to three feet in length and weigh 3.3kgs. European and Asian birds migrate Southwards to warmer climates in the winter, and it's ancestors were domesticated as early as the fourteenth century BC.

The Emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) is the second-tallest living bird after its ratite relative the ostrich. It is endemic to Australia, where it is the largest native bird and the only extant member of the genus Dromaius. Emus are soft-feathered, brown, flightless birds with long necks and legs, and can reach up to 1.9 metres (6 ft 3 in) in height. Emus can travel great distances, and when necessary can sprint at 48 km/h (30 mph).
