Historic Villages of Shirakawa-gō and Gokayama (wiki)
Small village in Japan with beatuful Gassho-zukuri houses.
Unfortunately it was between snow and sakura season.
Really nothing season but the view was still amazing.
I made into a short slide show (44sec).

I have a very nice feedback about BGM in this video in here. Thank you very much. I actually fell in love with this music. This is from Japanese loyalty free music site. I wrote to the composer to say thanks. This is the response from him (all in Japanese)
This music is truly a gem. I had to use just the middle part but whole the music is really amazing and so moving.

XX.

Lightning captured over the St. Petersburg skyline.
Came across this gem from last month while backing up recent images. One shortcoming of RAW images, no thumbnail is created unless you've downloaded and installed the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack. Being late to the RAW party (and being guilty of not keeping up with all the latest offerings from Microsoft), I've only recently installed the codec pack, and as a result this image almost went unnoticed. Considering how ACR rendered the image with only some minor tweaking, that would have been a shame.

The Mount Gladstone Lookout and Nature Reserve sits in 125 hectares of native bushland less than four kilometres from the edge of Cooma township and offers magnificent views across the Monaro Plains and to the peaks of the Snowy Mountains from the two easily accessible viewing platforms. The Mt Gladstone Nature Reserve is also a popular spot for walkers and mountain bike riding. Maps can be found at the Cooma Visitors Centre. There are toilets and barbecue facilities available along with car and coach parking. S10N_28
Not quite what it seems. I was trying out a Linux O/S on an old computer, seeing what photo editing software was like. I don't think the codecs on the software was up to date for my camera and the colours came out wrong. I messed about with the photo and this was the end result, interesting at least :-)

set the image quality to small so it did not fill up the memory card to fast. also the low quality on the 5D is good enough to make 2k HD movies from
I used something simmler to Canon's TC80N3 Remote Control to take photo at precis increments. TC80N3 Remote Control plugs into where a cable release would go but you can set it to take a certon number of photos and at specific intervals you can also use it with bulb mode to set the exposure time in hours minutes and seconds. i have a cheep rip off version made by a company called Micnova they are but they are both essentially souped up stop watchs with a cable to coming of it
i used adobe light room to batch process the files to remove sensor dust (i cleaned my sensor today don't have to clean anyhting on an analog camrea!) and then quick time pro to import all the files and make it in to a movie. if you have quicktime pro all you do is go to FILE > OPEN IMAGE SEQUENCE, select the 1st image in you sequence and then set frame rate then once imported you export at any pixel dimensions and use what ever codec you want. for upload to flickr i encoded it with H.246. quick time pro is only $30

Photograph taken at an altitude of One metres at 20:42pm on Thursday 25th May 2023 around sunset at Patricia Bay , a body of salt water that extends East from the Saanich Inlet and forms part of the North Saanich shoreline in the District of North Saanich in British Columbia. It features a beautiful park which is at the south end of the Scoter Trail. Formerly known as Union Bay, the bay was named after Princess Patricia of Connaught, daughter of the Duke of Connaught who was Governor General in 1912.
The park has ties to transportation and the waterfront, and their pivotal role in the development of North Saanich. It is also tied to the development of the Victoria International Airport and military aviation efforts during the Second World War. In 1937, the airport was developed as one of six Royal Canadian Air Force Station training facilities on Vancouver Island.
The land was originally settled by the Tseycum First Nation (Union Bay Indian Reserve No.4) , one of four Saanich villages of Southern Vancouver Island in the area and part of the Northern Straits Coast Salish language group.
In the Sencoten langauge Tseycum is spelled Wsikem and means Land of Clay. The languages spoken include Lkwungen, Malchosen, Semiahmoo, SENĆOŦEN andT’Sou-ke and in 2023 the Chief is Tanya Jimmy, who was elected in July 2019. The Tseycum people have five reserves located at:
Bare Island 9, Goldstream 13, Pender Island 8, Saturna Island 7 and Union Bay 4.
