The thing I love about this photo is the absolutely menacing Potato Cod in the top left of the frame.

Cod head cooked in chicken stock with dulse. Served with potato salad and lots of lovage. “The Little Cook Book for Genteel Housekeepers” from 1800 details two types of courses. Expensive materials are used for respectable people while the cheaper materials are cooked for the unseemly. But the cheaper materials are best when treated with love and care.

I will sometimes check to see what the Trade Fair supermarket has in prepared lunch dishes. Sometimes, I'm too late to get anything. This time there was only one plate, this one, and it was labeled "Hot Plate Large" with no clue as to what it was. I decided to take my chances.
It turned out to be a cod fish stew. The yellow rice was loaded with corn and had a delicious corn flavor. It was the best! This was a lot of food for $4.99.
