I find myself constantly tormented by beautiful shots of food from certain contacts who shall remain nameless. So let me just say, payback's a bitch. :)
Deliciously plump dates are stuffed with a sweetened mascarpone cheese and rolled in cocoa powder to make the perfect party dish.

Recipe from "The Craft of Baking" - it was cupcake recipe and I turned it into a bundt cake. The cake itself has lots of fresh and ground ginger, molasses, stout (I actually used porter), cocoa powder, coffee and loads of other spices. The icing/glaze has a little bit of coffee and molasses in it.
I truly didn't much care for gingerbread until I made this cake.

A short while ago, I worked on some nice food photography and the theme was chocolate. We had the chance to go for some dark and moody shots and we took it. The trend in food photography these days leans towards very bright backgrounds so it was good fun to buck that trend and do something a bit different.

Just your basic tiramisu. The can doesn't open (unless mine is really jammed) even though it looks like it should, & the sifter doesn't have any actually holes in it.

it was our small, square wedding cake. dark chocolate flour-less (gluten-free) cake, full of prunes soaked in brandy and nuts.
very yummy!
covered with marzipan and chocolate paste, with cocoa powder sprinkled over it and decorated with candied rose petals, it was served with creme frais & prune puree.
the manager of the restaurant was drooling when he tried it and after a while he came over and asked for the recipe (btw. they have their own patisserie with some of the best stuff in town so it was a nice complimet)

You can't go wrong with chocolate and cherries, and these are no exception! Vegan, with 100% spelt flour and no added fat thanks to homemade pumpkin and sunflower seed butter, even the frosting is good for you, and packed with hidden antioxidants!
Greatly adapted from Attune Foods to use up some pantry items I had and make my own granola to use in my mom's weekly bread! It really does depend on the day's heat and humdity as to how long this takes - start checking after an hour if you're worried about it burning.

Something I whipped up to bring a new spin to the standard "chili" on the school menu. It may be a little too spicy for the youngest palates, but serve with a glass of milk and it's all good!

Need more breakfast idea for my current diet that doesn't involve avocado. It is especially tricky when I'm on the road. Although this chocolate raspberry chia pudding is not anti-inflammatory (I consider it more neutral), it is certainly packed with nutrition. Plus I can make it in hotel rooms too if I don't fancy it up.
Chia seeds are soaked overnight in almond milk until you get consistency of pudding. Dissolve some cocoa powder with hot water to make a thick paste and blend into pudding. Fold in cacao nibs and raspberries. You can sweeten it with maple syrup but since I cut out sugar, the raspberries will have to pull their weight.
