Bus 47 - 1980's International Blue Bird (RETIRED)

I find the cloverleaf above the door interesting.

This is the cloverleaf of Hwy 403 and ETR 407 in west Toronto area.

No combination of any of the visible digits show the promised information.

"This rare series 3 Sprint was supplied new by Thorobred Cars, Walton‑On‑Thames to it's one registered lady owner from new. The engine has been upgraded to a rebuilt 1700cc unit which was purchased in 2016 and between 2016 and 2020 the car remained off the road. Comes complete with a quantity of receipts dating from the late 1890's to 2017 including one for the purchase of a rebuilt Alfa 1.7 engine, MoTs, original main agent document and copy workshop manual. The mileage is recorded at 62,135."

 

Sold for £8208 including premium.

Missed a huge downpour this morning while sleeping but managed to catch the last of it sitting on some clover in my back garden. Taken with a Samsung NX30 and 60mm f2.8 SSA

1982 Alfa Romeo Alfasud Gold Cloverleaf 5-door.

No previous keepers.

Last taxed in August 1998 and last MoT test expired in September 2016.

"The vendor informs us that this Alfasud has just one recorded keeper from new, a retired Naval Commander. Described as being totally standard and original. Recently recommissioned after a long period in dry storage including cambelt, new battery and brake overhaul. Seven service stamps from the original supplying dealer. Not used for some time, the MoT expired in September of last year.

I took part of a morning to continue learning the joys of flight and wound up at Matteson, IL home of one of CN's crossroads in the Chicagoland area. Here, a southbound leaves Markham for the former IC, crossing over the top of their former EJ&E line.

"Chassis number: ZAS902A6005135810. Registered in February 1989, this Sprint represents one of the final models of the type constructed, production having lasted from 1976 to 1989. This one is in higher performance Cloverleaf form, with 1712cc ‘Boxer’ engine. Just one previous registered keeper is indicated on the V5C, with the car having an MoT through to July 2023. The odometer shows circa 43,100 miles. Included with the history folder are the current V5C plus copies of previous ones, MoT certificates from 2008 to 2010, 2012, 2014 to 2017 and 2022. There's also a substantial amount of invoices from throughout the car's life, including the original Lease Purchase form from February 1989 plus the owner's handbook, Blaupunkt Cambridge radio code and the service book, albeit with only two stamps, up to 1990."

This is the former Cloverleaf / NKP / N&W railroad bridge over Little Wildcat Creek and a county road near West Middleton, west of Kokomo. The tracks have been cut or removed for miles in either direction so this bridge will never carry traffic again.

This is the former bus #31 from the Cloverleaf Local School District in Ohio. This was a 1974 International Loadstar with a Superior body. On the right of bus #31 is bus #40 which is a 1981 International S-Series with a Superior body. Note that both of these buses have a higher stance indicating that they were optioned with the heavier springs and axles. Photo by Gavin Berwald.

Now abandoned, the Cloverleaf District of the Nickel Plate Road / Norfolk & Western passed over Defenbaugh Street on the west edge of Kokomo.

Cloverleaf Cafe, 113 4th Street, Rawlins, Wyoming. This cafe closed in 2017, briefly reopened in 2021, but is not permanently closed.

No foolin' on April 1st, the Eastern Illinois Railroad departs Oakland with 51 loads of grain for ADM, headed for interchange to the CN at Neoga. The EIRC operates a 53 mile remnant of the Nickel Plate "Cloverleaf Route".

 

That signal was once the NKP distant signal for the interlocking at Oakland, where the Pennsylvania's branch to Decatur once crossed.

 

As always, the engines sound much better than they look!
