“Is this a time to be cloudy and sad,
When our mother Nature laughs around;
When even the deep blue heavens look glad,
And gladness breathes from the blossoming ground?”

A long exposure of the surf at Shore Acres State Park on Cape Arago on a cloudy day.
Shore Acres was originally built as an estate in 1910 by Louis Simpson, a timber baron. The three-story mansion included a heated indoor swimming pool, a ballroom and 5 acres of formal gardens. In 1921, his first wife died, and the mansion burned down three months later. Simpson remarried and rebuilt. However, the Great Depression devastated his fortune and eventually he sold the property to the State of Oregon which turned the area into a state park.
The uplifted rock formations with concretions and tafoni are amazing.

^)(^ SORRY: I have to "slow down" (probably fewer photos, fewer input in groups, fewer comments and slower responses, etc.) for the next coming weeks, because we renovate our house ♫♪
I am very sorry about possible inconveniences ...
Me and my old barn pictures. Saw the clouds, the beautiful light, so just had to shoot the picture. Beautiful spring day here in Quebec! :-)

This is a panorama made up of three simple shots. Hugin with a Biplane projection was used for building the panorama. 4.5.0 development version of Darktable was used for the edition, getting the advantage of the new module "RGB primaries". You can read additional technical information in my profile (about section).

The Rockefeller Center is definitely one of the best places in Manhattan to appreciate the skyline, specially the Empire State Building. This cloudy winter day shows a different perspective of the Big Apple.

There I post more of my work.
The mechanical semaphore signals of Klanxbüll get no rest, as countless trains pass the station to and from the island of Sylt on the North Sea, which is only connected to land by a railway line.
218.832 leads an afternoon SyltShuttle train with a car transport from the island. The train is drawn to a halt, as it awaits for a blue AutoZug lead by a diesel Vectron locomotive to pass in the Gegenrichtung. The 'free way' signal for the train is already shown.
It seems that, despite having visited the Marschbahn during summertime, cloudy weather accompanied us for most of our stays. Let's hope our next trip to Germany doesn't end like this :)
