Shortly after this shot was taken a thunderstorm came up. Growling thunder could even be heard while I took this shot.
Two buildings, both empty and deteriorating have lost any practical use on this farm but still serve as a visual reminder of a lifestyle once prevalent but now rapidly disappearing. Old married couples may not be much to look at and their strength is not what it once was but there is a regal beauty in the successful navigation of decades together.

This desolate rugged landscape of Trona Pinnacles reminded me of sci-fi view of Mars! Solitude is indeed blissful when you in such a alien place! This trip took a lot of planning around winter thuderstorms, mudslides, snowstorms to get here! I am in LOVE!

I finally got a chance to get out early this morning. I was hoping for a great sunrise-only mediocre-but I still couldn't pass up this interesting old fence post that I found just before the sun peeked over the horizon.
