We are in the middle of the North Island in Taupo. Lake Taupo is a very busy tourist area. I'm using the motel's hotspot so only limited time online. Off on a lake cruise tomorrow. Back home Monday.

Peggy's Cove - Nova Scotia, Canada
The lighthouse and village are a bit small, but I couldn't resist posting this wide angle shot which captured the stunning cloud-buildup.
It was a whole new perspective to see this bridge with such amazing clouds formation in here. One of the Panorama study continue to practice , explore and leaning everyday.

101 Oil Studies, No. 11
Objective: Testing of surface texture and gestural strokes in clouds.
Painted in 2 sessions, both on 1 Feb 2024.
Pigments (all Winsor & Newton Artists' oil colour): Cerulean blue, titanium white, cadmium orange. Mediums: Gamsol, Oleogel.
Ampersand Gessobord, 12.7 x 12.7 cm (5 x 5 inches)
Process: In this miniature, I initially intended the cadmium orange simply to desaturate the blue for dark gray clouds, but as I went along, I let the color come out.
After Action Evaluation: (1) In the initial wash, some brush grain continued to show, but this study suggests that can work in a cloudscape. (2) Upper thin, white clouds approach realism in high, but the dark clouds and lower white clouds can work in more gestural paintings.
Add another shot the the P&S series! I have 1000's of photographs from my six years in Okinawa that are all safely nestled away into endless folders categorized by years, months and specific trips. As you can tell from the camera settings, I had no clue what I was doing so don't let anyone ever dissuade you from enjoying photography. Too often new photographers get caught up in the technical details and lose sight of the art and spontaneity of enjoyment in photography. Stay tuned for more throwbacks!
Cloud movement over time yields a 3D effect.; in addition I changed position between shots.
This is a stereogram, to be viewed in crossview technique.
Separate images have been taken subsequently.
500px Photo ID: 183933329 - If you are fond of nature and are a landscape photographer, there is no better trip that I can suggest than a trip to the Canadian segment of the Rocky Mountains.
Keep aside at least 7 days to do full justice to the Rockies. Ideally, start your trip at Vancouver by taking the Rocky Mountaineer train to Banff. From Banff, you can hire a car or take a coach trip which will take you through what is probably one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world. This trip will take you through the Banff National Park and the Jasper National Park and you return to Vancouver via Whistler. The best time to visit is early June when there is still some snow left on the mountains.
The Canadians excel in protecting the environment and all nature as well as wildlife is religiously safeguarded.
