Skies and clouds are primary objectives of mine when out image hunting. Not a big fan of all blue skies. As I hunt mountains I'm often fortunate to find all kinds of clouds as mountains "catch" them and form them.
Here is one of my 2 favorite types of clouds catching the last rays of the day over the MT side of Beartooth Pass. Mammatous clouds are my other favorite. This cloud is a "stacked" lenticular.
"Lenticular clouds get their name from the fact that they're shaped like a lens or a saucer. This is why they're also sometimes called “flying saucer clouds" and sometimes mistaken for UFOs. Some other nicknames for lenticular clouds include “cloudships," “clouds of heaven" and “lennies." They also have a fancy scientific name: Altocumulus lenticularis."

As always, thank you for taking a look!
Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
Yesterday was such a great day for clouds. From Los Angeles to the Nevada stateline all up I-15. I took over 90 pictures, landscapes with cool clouds, stopped maybe about 5 or 6 times, I didn't keep count. Ended up with 8 or 9 pictures I really liked, many of the others were very similar, so tried to pick the best from each stop. This cloud shot was taken at the last rest area on top of the mountain just before the long hill down to the Nevada stateline. I wasn't actually above the clouds, but they were about even with the altitude I was at.
Out front of the Lonsdale Quay Market on the South side of the building is a beautiful tile mosaic fountain with abstract art inside of it, and just adjacent to that is the Love Locks area of the waterfront boardwalk where people leave various types of locks attached to the wire mesh to honour their loved ones. This waterfront area is also home to year round events and outdoor music. [...].

Some impressive clouds seen at Good Harbor beach in Gloucester. It was low tide when I visited, and the reflections in the wet sand were quite fascinating.
Note "Salt Island" on the right, which can be accessed by walking across at really low tides. Also, in the far distance you can make out the dual lighthouses of Thacher Island.
Works best when displayed in large. Feel free to zoom in.

Newly processed 08-28-19. I have presented other photos taken at the same time with Lifeguard boats on the beach backed by this glorious cloudscape.
The Cabrillo Beach Lifeguards were hosting a rowing contest that afternoon and were pulling their boats down to the water's edge.
It was also threatening to rain, but didn't, and I got some of my favorite cloudscapes along the Palos Verdes Peninsula that day.
