After my third trip in as many days attempting to get a sunset over a wheat field, I knew it would be another failure with cloud on the horizon - the ones overhead were quite pretty, after some showery rain today
Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, Osage County, Oklahoma.
Taken in 1993 on Fujichrome Velvia 35mm slide film.
I just noticed I had uploaded the work file instead of the finished one, hence all the dirt in the image. Sorry 'bout that, folks; I'll replace it soon.
Over the Tasman Sea. The D-Lux 3 is a handy little camera to have around on flights. Amazing sun and clouds over the Tasman en route from Melbourne to Wellington earlier today. Compartment to myself. I listened to music and watched this go by - which after 30 hours travel, was pretty much all I *could* do :)
I don't know if you can see the trees way down under Mount Roraima, but if you can, you'll realize the kind of out of this world views you get from the edge of the tepuy.
One of the best hikes ever, no need to argue.

A vast, turbulent sky dominates the scene with dark, swirling clouds suggesting an approaching storm. Below, a long, dirt road stretches into the distance, bordered by fields of lush green grass, creating a stark contrast with the ominous sky above.

in addition to a clear moon there was some fabulous colour in the clouds as the sun was heading to the horizon - I tried to make a panorama but PS struggled with the matching so I had to do it manually and then the colour matching wasn't right so I had to smudge it in which is still a bit rough - I'll put it down to a learning experience : )
Interesting pattern of high clouds. Not sure if there are more sub-species but definitely cirrus (maybe high alto-cumulus too).
At the end of Habourside Drive overlooking Northwest Creek in Fairfield Harbour, North Carolina on a cold and windy January evening.
A day for cloudscapes, as bad weather slowly moved towards Dungeness from the direction of Folkestone, taken from Denge Marsh Road, just before the Gully.
Wild spring weather brings interesting clouds into the area.
