A wicked bad day of severe weather in South Central Nebraska. For more information on that day... NWS Official Report.
A tornadic supercell with an Ef1 or Ef2 tornado struck the city of Kearney late afternoon. The aftermath wasn't pretty. I sure wanted to be out chasing but I was scheduled for work, and missed the entire historic event.
Power was out, but I did have the camera batteries charged. Geared up, with camera in hand after I got home from work. I took a few minutes during clean up that night to capture these incredible cloudscapes that were on the back side of the storms.
These were the final rays, the last light of the day. These clouds were truly some spectacular stormscape captures to end that day of severe weather!

The unsettled weather we have had lately has created the most interesting clouds... changing every minute of the day. This shot, looking west in the late afternoon created silhouettes against the cloudscape.
After rain clouds view at Twin Peaks. Is it a painting work of San Francisco ? :)

After last night's thunderstorms (I received 0.35") the atmosphere is primed for a very active afternoon and evening. This may be the last of the summer wet season over the Southwestern US.
My elevation is 3600 feet.

After rain clouds with soft sunset light reflection of the high peak clouds colors. I normally do not see such view of the city sky line. The lucky one. On the other hand, it was the same evening as the full moon when I was at Fort Point.

Taken on the morning of 28 July. Eventually the skies became overcast. Taken 28 July.

Numerous intense thunderstorms developed over the Front Range (of the Rockies) late afternoon with their cirrus anvil tops moving northward to southeast Wyoming. In this image, a developing storm at right near Ft Collins would become severe but would eventually dissipate by the time it arrived over Cheyenne.
With a nearly clear horizon, the setting sun provided impressive crepuscular rays and lit the bottom of this cloud mass to reveal large mammatus clouds.
