Close-up of some of the snow that fell last night in a storm that wasn't forecasted. It was a warm storm so the snow was very heavy and I got a lot of good exercise.

One of the most moving memorials I've ever seen was the series of gaunt statues commemorating the Irish Potato Famine. This is a close-up of one of their faces.
Had a little walk around Castle Eden Dene at 06.00 this morning - No Sunlight meant I could only get a few Macro Shots !! Cant Grumble though ! Dont know what this is but I liked the white bendy bits in the middle LOL !!

I've added a pencil line for the ends of her lips and I was very proud of them so here's a close up :).
Close-up of carvings along the ballcourt's east wall. This player's headdress and the plate through his nose are visible.
All of the Ballcourt reliefs (there are six in all) depict the decapitation of a ballcourt player; it is possible that this was a very real consequence in some of the games. One such scene shows a victorious player holding in one hand a knife, and in the other the head of his enemy; blood streams from the neck and is transformed into serpents. Regardless of the degree to which human sacrifice was actually carried out in conjunction with the game, the ballgame was a ritual event and played role in deriving and maintaining power and legitimacy.
Notice the light and shadow serpent just barely visible on the side of the Castillo. This photograph was taken on the spring equinox.
