This was taken with my Borg 107FL with a 2.5x PowerMate along with a 2x Celestron Barlow lens (5x total increase) and a 178M camera with no filters. At this magnification I found that using a solar continuum filter required lengthy exposures (5x magnification = 25x reduction in surface brightness), or for too much gain, that introduced significant noise. In the end, I got lucky with a bit of reasonable seeing so this image turned out relatively well, all considered.

my popular Happy Tree design has a new twist :: a felt gnome disguise!
A super-pointy red felt gnome hat, hand stitched with blanket stitch, and pointy enough to hold the hanging loop and bell.
A pointy white gnome beard, held on with white elastic, to ensure maximum gnome comfort ;-p

Here's a closeup of page 1 of today (November 28 ,2007) The liquid wax is not quite dry, so I don't want to screw anything up. I wasn't sure if I really liked how I made the wavy lines, but heck, it's just my art journal!!! I'm experimenting and playing with new materials. I think I'm addicted to this liquid wax (Thanks Mum!) Oh yeah, the image is from Dover Publications and I think I'm addicted to it! I colored the woman/fish in with my Lyra watercolor pencils and used a Dover blender pen instead of water. I'm such a dork, I've had that blender pen for about 3 years and have never been brave enough to use it. Sheesh! So glad I'm getting over that!
A close up section of the new painting I'm currently working on. ..it's yet to be named...It's acrylic and ink on canvas...

Various close up from the last couple of years. I thought it would be a good idea to have them all in one Flickr Album. A few I may have posted previously.
Close up of the Black Metal Skull Smoking pipe Plinth style box. Each box has an attached pipe on them showing which pipe you have won. They are just a preview of which pipe is inside the box you have one.. if you play the gacha machine. There are also some actual working pipes rezzed on top of a few of the pipe plinth boxes, these are the small pipes you will see scattered on top. Why not pop by for a peek and maybe snag one for yourself or a loved one.
These are original mesh pipes made by myself Beliria Lumley @BLD in second life.
