Taken today during my latest visit to the Hunter Wetlands Centre, Shortland NSW with long time friend and fellow flickr tog Joe Micallef.
Bird activity was relatively quiet following the abundant rain and flooding along the East Coast of NSW.

A close up head shot of this weaver bird capturers its really stunning colours.
I didn't have to go far for this one as these birds were nesting in bushes within the hotel grounds. Photographed on the island of Zanzibar.
Close-up of what I believe is a thistle, taller than myself and gently moving with the breeze. Fuji X-E2 plus Helios 44M-7 wide-open.
A close up of a nearby duck, Summer 2020. The duck and its partner approached me, whilst sitting overlooking an heronry. It settled, and slept, perhaps two inches from my foot. Here is the result.

Two eagles were discussing global warming on a low branch. I thought i would join in the debate but they decided i was the cause and left in a hurry the minute i exited my gas polluting car with my camera. Too bad it was a lovely setting - alas i did manage to fire off a couple of exit shots. I have managed to get quite close on occasion but it could well be the 200-600 lens is slightly more intimidating up close.
