This past weekend, I visited the monthly Long Beach Flea Market, specifically to take macro-photographs and close-up photos of trinkets, geegaws, and baubles. I was not disappointed.
Hand-held D5200 at ISO 200, with 105G macro lens, 1/200-sec at f/16, Nikon SB-600 speedlight with FotoDiox 6x8-inch softbox diffuser.

A good close-up of the weave, and a view of the spindle. It has a hook carved in the shaft. Unfortunately I "clipped" the end of the shaft in my photo. You use it like a top whorl spindle, but roll it on your thigh, holding fibre supply in your left hand, held high. I wanted to buy one, but it was not for sale.

In this book I tried a new idea I've been thinking about for a while to inset something inside the front cover by cutting into the cover. I had this little fish pond collage lying around and thought it would be perfect!
