As you might know me my photography style is all about landscapes and wide angle photography. Seen a lot about Macro photography, but never did something with it.
Last weekend I visited the Burgers Zoo and especially the recently opened mangrove, which is the largest indoor mangrove in the world. With a surface area of 3,000 square meters, visitors venture into the largest indoor mangrove in the world. From the beach bordering a Belizean town square, the mysterious world that is the mangrove calls. Further inland, the mangrove forest slowly transforms into a tropical dry forest, where hundreds of butterflies in all shapes, sizes, and colours are dancing in the air.
There I experienced for the first time the fun you can have capturing little creatures like these. The little Canon G7X has the ability for shooting some macro's, but than the question rises....what is macro? Is the shot above a macro or what do we call this? Tips and suggestions are welcome as well as your honest opinion about this 'first macro of mine'. I'll be back with some more macro's as soon as I get a macro lens for the 5DMKIII.

Just a close up detail look at the polished stainless steel flank and colorful MTA logos adorning Metro North 4260 on train 8731. This is a Bombardier M7A third rail MU, and one of 336 of the type in Metro North service which provide the preponderance of service along the busy commuter carrier's former New York Central electrified territory. Close up of fresh and healthy apples. Shot taken with a thin depth-of-field focusing on the foreground stalk.
I just think this shot is so sexy. Pretty nails, rings, bracelets, lace top stockings, girdle and those suspenders just peeping through.Leeds 11th August 2011

Still not managed to get out with the camera yet, ankle still giving me some grief, so thought I'd have a play with the 85mm Macro lens.
This is my dad's old Paxette 35mm camera and light meter, he bought them both back in the 1950's whilst in Germany doing his stint of National Service, they came to me when he passed away nearly 20 years ago, they've been sat in a drawer ever since.
This image is a 68 shot stack, why so many??, well I tried just doing 5 shots and stacking but was still left with area's that were out of focus, switched everything to manual and cracked on with making sure every part of the intended shot was in focus, quite happy with the resulting image,
trout lilies were early this year, and I almost missed them completely .. caught a small few just as they were closing up shop for the season

Chat forestier (= chat sauvage)
