I didn't even know it was possible to have a locomotive be so clean. But here we are with a recently repainted, flagless ACe leading a manifest through Houston in 2022. Probably the cleanest locomotive I've ever seen.
And oh yeah, there's a nice-looking BNSF SD70MAC rebuild to the right too.

This just reminded me of that universal pouting pose that young girls do when being photographed. It also gives a good view of their feeding mechanism for sucking the contents out of clams. They have an airtight (actually watertight) mouth and a muscular tongue (just about visible) that creates negative pressure like a piston for sucking shellfish out of their shells. But I can't work out why the lower jaw seems to have discoloured the tusk where it comes into contact. I thought that might have been the cleanest part of the tusk that is regularly "polished" by the lips, but I'm not a dentist.
Lac d'Annecy, Haute-Savoie, France.
The Lac d'Annecy is a lake in Haute-Savoie, in eastern France. It is famous for being one of the cleanest lakes in the world. It is also the second largest lake in France after Lake Bourget, except for the French part of Lake Geneva.
The lake was formed 18,000 years ago, during the melting of the great alpine glaciers.
It is fed by several small rivers, born in the nearby mountains (Ire, Eau morte, Laudon, Bornette and Biolon), and by a powerful underwater source, the Boubioz, which rises at a depth of 82 m. It is surrounded: to the east by the Bornes massif; to the west, by the massif of the Bauges; to the north, by the agglomeration of Annecy; and to the south, through a wide valley.
The lake expels its excess water into the Thiou river and the Vassé canal, which join and feed the Fier river, 1500 m north of Annecy, which eventually joins the Rhone river.
It is a very attractive tourist place, known for its nautical activities.
A three unit lashup of IC GP-40 "specimens" roll a Chicago bound freight over the Kankakee River. One could almost say "right leader" to this one as it is the cleanest, but it's unfortunately suffering from the vanishing lettering disease that affected so many IC units. Best one is probably the middle unit, and for sure the trailing unit is in the right position...
Image of a vintage box of asbestos snow decoration. Directions on the box say to sprinkle the snow decoration liberally on window sills and on Christmas tree limbs as it will cling to many surfaces.
Fire-proof, yes. "Cleanest", perhaps not.
The headwaters of the Snake River are in Yellowstone National Park. As flow progresses southward, the Snake River passes through the Alpine climate of the Tetons and the greater Jackson Hole area. Here, the Snake is fed by an average precipitation of 30+ inches, and average of 252 inches of snowfall. There are minimal urban areas between the Yellowstone headwaters and the water consumers in Teton County, making the water some of the purest and cleanest in the country.
Antipaxos, early 80's, at that time for swimming only, one "baraki" , run by a "Brusselois"!
The cleanest water I had ever seen, like swimming in a swimming pol, indeed!
Very little post processing... just a small crop, and a bit of brightness adjustment.
Taken from the bridge over the Dip River near Mawbanna, NW Tasmania, Australia
On the other side of the bridge, the water cascades over a large waterfall, so it's amazing that it could be so still here..... so close to the drama....
Should also mention that this area of Tasmania has some of the cleanest air in the world - thanks to strong westerly winds, the Roaring 40s, which travel over thousands of kilometres of southern ocean before hitting the West Coast of Tassie.

With the magnificent dome of West Register House, formerly St. George's Church on the west side of Charlotte Square, here is Dennis Dart SLF, Plaxton Pointer SPD (11.3metres) number 55 (SK52 OHY) resting briefly in the quiet of a summer Saturday morning in George Street.
Since 2009 a new strategy by Lothian Buses to combat air pollution in Edinburgh has resulted in a whole new eco-friendly approach to bus transport in the city. It's all about reducing emissions and Dart's 54 to 60 and 188 normally work Service 36 - a mostly very congested area of the city centre, never getting up fast speeds and long runs. Basically LB took some of the oldest single deckers and made them the cleanest vehicles in the fleet.
The new livery 'Get There Greener ' has a two toned green with a dragon fly kite mark and complimented by the great 100 year old new madder and white with gold numbers and stripes.
These Darts work hard all day back and forward between Ocean Terminal and Holyrood Palace. Some have characteristics that are immediately recongniseable. 55 tends to whine quite a bit while 58 squeals and the air condition / heating system makes you feel you're in an aeroplane about to take off!
The grand masterpiece of architecture at the head of the west end of George Street is a vision to behold, but there was a bit of a financial tussle with the design. In the end Robert Reid adopted Robert Adam's 1791 scheme of portico, dome and flanking pavilions, but making it all alot more bold in mass. The cost of the building rose to £23, 675 when the church was opened in 1814.
Note the glorious Neo-Classical green-coppered dome which is meant to be a replica of St. Paul's in London, complete with tempietto lantern - a little Greek temple on the head of the dome.

CPKC 529 makes it approach to Walkerville with a cool CP AC44 on point. After catching 135 at Elmstead about an hour earlier, i was notified that a 529 was going westbound through Tilbury with unknown power. Since I was already out, I decided to stay trackside and see what the leader was for the train. Luckily, CPKC had offered me one of the cleanest AC44s on the roster in some nice lighting....

6th addition to my Artwork Inspired series: TDK Joker.
Based of posterised/grunge artwork (artist Unknown), the figure captures the style all be it simplified a little.
Unlike other figures, the torso details and to some extent the face details, are not defined entirly. Instead just like the artwork, block shading and lines create the suit's look without complete shapes.
Whites in eyes may be made smaller (and more accurate) shortly.
Hair was difficult to get right without sculpting, so may be upgraded in the future.
Legs were improvised (and not that great), but oh well...
Not my cleanest paint job, but one of my most experiential styles yet, being a good addition to my artwork series; intended to experiment further than traditional customising.
On our way back to Lincoln, Sam and I made a pitstop in Fairmont to get a long exposure shot of 2457, the 60M that Manning Rail had purchased and patched. Probably one of the cleanest patches you'll see.
Note the light coming in from the right there illuminating the rear trucks and part of the fuel tank. That would be from pickup of the town police officer. I knew as soon as I spotted one of the neighbors watching us from their screen door that we were getting called in, and soon enough, he pulled up. Was a nice younger officer, though, and after a 30 second chat we were back on the road home.
Manning Rail SD60M 2457 sits by the elevator in Fairmont, Nebraska, January 8, 2023.
Probably not the cleanest composition but it paints a picture of today.
Today was one of the best kind. Not too hot, not too cold. Some sun, some clouds. Goldilocks would have approved.
I've never been that keen on shooting the sun. But this superbly compact 20mm lens might change that. Ok I don't want to burn a sensor, but. At last, some Nikon glass that makes beautiful stars effortlessly. I wonder if anyone has a list of Nikon / Nikon compatible lenses that render stars nicely. Think this is my only one.
Puerto Princesa, officially City of Puerto Princesa (Filipino: Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa) is a city located in the western provincial island of Palawan, Philippines. Though the provincial seat of government for Palawan, the city itself is one of 38 independent cities within the Philippines not controlled by the province in which it is geographically located and is therefore an independent area located within Palawan.
As of 2010, Puerto Princesa had a population of 222,673 people, making it the least densely populated city in the Philippines. In terms of land area, the city is the second largest geographically after Davao City with an area of 2,381.02 square kilometres (919.32 sq mi). Puerto Princesa is the location of the Philippines's Western Command headquarters.
Today, Puerto Princesa is a popular tourist city with many beach resorts and seafood restaurants. It has been acclaimed several times as the cleanest and greenest city in the Philippines.

Miami is a seaport city at the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Florida and its Atlantic coast. As the seat of Miami-Dade County, the municipality is the principal, central, and the most populous city of the Miami metropolitan area and part of the second-most populous metropolis in the southeastern United States.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Miami's metro area is the eighth-most populous and fourth-largest urban area in the U.S., with a population of around 5.5 million.
Miami is a major center, and a leader in finance, commerce, culture, media, entertainment, the arts, and international trade. In 2012, Miami was classified as an Alpha−World City in the World Cities Study Group's inventory. In 2010, Miami ranked seventh in the United States in terms of finance, commerce, culture, entertainment, fashion, education, and other sectors. It ranked 33rd among global cities. In 2008, Forbes magazine ranked Miami "America's Cleanest City", for its year-round good air quality, vast green spaces, clean drinking water, clean streets, and citywide recycling programs.
According to a 2009 UBS study of 73 world cities, Miami was ranked as the richest city in the United States, and the world's fifth-richest city in terms of purchasing power. Miami is nicknamed the "Capital of Latin America" and is the largest city with a Cuban-American plurality.
Miami has the third tallest skyline in the U.S. with over 300 high-rises. Downtown Miami is home to the largest concentration of international banks in the United States, and many large national and international companies. The Civic Center is a major center for hospitals, research institutes, medical centers, and biotechnology industries.
For more than two decades, the Port of Miami, known as the "Cruise Capital of the World", has been the number one cruise passenger port in the world. It accommodates some of the world's largest cruise ships and operations and is the busiest port in both passenger traffic and cruise lines.
Metropolitan Miami is the major tourism hub in the American South, number two in the U.S. after New York City and number 13 in the world, including the popular destination of Miami Beach.

A Woody Allen quote memorialized on a plaque in Oviedo Spain.
"Oviedo is Delicious, Exotic, Beautiful, Clean, Pleasant, Peaceful, and Kind to Pedestrians. It's as if it doesn't belong to this world, as if it could not possibly exist ... Oviedo is like a Fairy Tale"
And it is true. Oviedo is the cleanest and nicest city I've ever seen.
The River Thames…
is one of the cleanest rivers in the world that flows through a major city.
This is an amazing achievement, considering that 60 years ago nothing could survive in the Thames, and in fact it was declared biologically dead by the Natural History Museum in 1957. This epic recovery was due to many factors, but the most important change was the improvement of London’s sewage system in the late 60s. The cleaning up is an ongoing process, and the current biggest risk is plastic waste.
is home to about 125 fish species
Today you can find in the Thames 125 species of fish, such as shads, salmon and eels. Also, don’t be surprised if you see seals and porpoises, and even a northern bottlenose whale was spotted in it once in 2006.
used to host Frost Fairs on its surface
A long time ago, the River Thames used to often freeze in winter, and between 1608 and 1814,
Last winter, I took one of the picture I am most proud of with my drone : the snow-covered Etang de la Gruère. Sunday evening, I was there during a crazy sunset, and I decided to make a new version of the same framing. The level of details you can achieve with such a machine is absolutely INSANE! Not that you can get such results "out of camera". This is a blend of two shots : one for the ground and one for the sky. However, the ground one, taken at 100 ISO has an exposure of 3 seconds ... This thing can stay stabilised in the air (there was a little bit of wind) and shoot for 3 seconds and still delivering reasonably sharp results !! I am amazed ! Of course, it is not the cleanest image you can dream of. But it was taken on a 1/2.3-inch sensor (same as a smartphones) during very dim light ! It should be impossible...
My one-day clutch of an entry for the Summer Joust atmospheric category (serene/contemplative).
I meant to enter way earlier, then decided not to for numerous reasons. This morning I then thought, well, why.not? And here we are.
This thing was whipped up today and went through some serious reshoots until I found something that just so happened to be just serene - which is the mood I reckon this scene does convey rather well.
Thanks to the people over on my Discord server for sharing their thoughts on the numerous options I photographed throughout probably a similar amount of time as I spent building this, if not longer.
Cheers
PS: This certainly isn't the cleanest nor sharpest picture I've ever taken, but I felt like it does the job.
Well it's been a long time coming and I never thought I'd actually get a second car at last, and I didn't really think it would be another old Skoda!
This Favorit was saved by my two friends who have a collection of classic cars and love Favorits. I say saved, as apparently the previous owner was going to scrap the car because of a head gasket failure. But a post was put up on a Facebook group and my friend saw it, being also located close to where she lives, she had to save it. Great job as it's probably one of the cleanest survivors out there.
They did the work that was needed to get this car back on the road and then offered it to me as they knew how much I was interested in the car right from when I first saw it and knew it would go to the right home!
I've been saving up for a long time to buy a second car, I wanted something a bit older, a bit more special and in great condition. Again, even though I wasn't looking to acquire another Skoda, as it happened, this was the right one to have for me and I'd say came up at the right time too.
It's incredibly covered just 28k miles in 32 years. The interior is pretty much in mint condition and the exterior isn't far off perfect, it's got minimal rust and there are a few scrapes and small dents here and there, but still very good for the age.
This is a series two Favorit, but very little was changed from the earliest models, which means it still has the cool brown/beige interior. Also it is apparently the base model, so it's gone no rear wash wipe, no radio, basic seats and has the slightly slower 135 version of the famous 1289cc Skoda engine.
The only visual change I've done to this car is I put a set of in-keeping Lada Samara wheel trims on, I think they suit it a lot, but also I need to refurbish the original steel wheels soon so that's why.
I will be keeping the Felicia alongside this of course. But the Favorit is too good to use very often, so it will be more of a weekend and show car.
According to HML, this is the only remaining Favorit Forum Hatchback left taxed!
As a bird photographer it is quite easy to be focussed :-) on our feathered friends and overlook the amazing landscape they live in.
Taken on the bank of the Little Ouse, thankfully one of the cleanest rivers in East Anglia.
I love the spoken lyrics to the Orb song - which remind me so much of living here with our big skies.
What were the skies like when you were young?
They went on forever and they, when I, we lived in Arizona
And the skies always had little fluffy clouds in them and, er
They were long and clear and
… There were lots of stars at night
And, er, when it would rain it would all turn, it, they were beautiful
The most beautiful skies, as a matter of fact
Uh, the sunsets were
Purple and red and yellow and on fire
And the clouds would catch the colors everywhere
More of the east window, with its many carved angels and saints in between the stone ribs. As far as I know, they were undamaged when the Puritans smashed most of the windows, which was a very lucky reprieve. I hadn't thought about it before, but once the glass had been smashed, quite apart from the appalling desecration, it must have been very cold and draughty before they managed to reglaze with plain glass. Here, the glass is the original, made by John Prudde, whose contract stipulated that the glass be made 'with no glass of England, and that in the finest wise with the best, cleanest, and strongest glass of beyond the sea that may be had in England, and that of the finest colours’. Once it was safe to do so, the windows were restored with what remained, much of this east window using glass from the south windows, and with some odd results, so there are I think two male figures who have female heads. The white zigzag is sheet music held by angels who are standing on wheels for some reason.

Lucerne is one of the prettiest and cleanest cities I have been to. Lake Lucerne was absolutely beautiful and my only regret was that it was at the end of our river cruise. We were able to extend our trip there for a couple of days but would have loved more time in such a magical, picturesque place.
....is the largest natural freshwater lake in the western part of the contiguous United States. With a surface area of between 191.5 sq mi (496 km2) and 197 sq mi (510 km2), it is slightly larger than Lake Tahoe. The lake is a remnant of the ancient inland sea, Lake Missoula of the era of the last interglacial. Flathead Lake is 27.3 mi (43.9 km) long and up to 15.5 mi (24.9 km) wide. Its known maximum depth is 370.7 ft (113.0 m), making it deeper than the average depths of the Yellow Sea or the Persian Gulf. It is one of the cleanest in the populated world for its size and type.

Is this gonna be an actual project? Will it be another model I'm too lazy to sell? Who know! What I do know is that there's a heck ton of things I have to learn before selling it... like how to do BENTO! Yes! I still have no clue how to do it!
Anyways, I'm hoping to make a hat to go with it too. We'll see.
Also here's the Wireframe for the 3D nerds (and for creators that really need to learn about topology).

It's not even in my top 100 cleanest and most optimized topos, but boy is it better than the 100k poly small objects I've been seeing around.
You don't need to have an equal amount of polys in every single place of the model. Big curves require more polys to create a smooth shape, smaller ones don't. The main areas of the model can be more dense, the ones people will look the least don't. It's all about being smart about it.
Let's all work together to make SL less laggy and crashy.
I might actually further optimize it during the whole process. We'll see.
The Pindos Mountains are quite spectacular. Its numerous rivers sculpted the rocks and shaped the gorges and the canyons. The dense forests with coniferous and deciduous trees, favoured by the climatic conditions, have created a unique biodiversity, with lots of flowers in Spring.
Ask any Greek to name a gorge of Greece and he will mention The Vikos. Jeroen has a collegue from Greece at work and she advised us to go hiking there. In the National Park of Vikos Aoos the bear and wild boar are protected, they wander out occasionally to feast on farm animals. The Vikos Gorge is olso one of the only places in Greece with signed interconnecting footpaths following the Vaidomatis River through the gorge.
So after visiting the village of Konitsa we went hiking in the Vikos gorge, crossing the river of Voidomatis (from the Slavic “Vointo-mat” which means “good water”) which is supposed to be one of the cleanest rivers in Europe. Its source supply is Vikos gorge, in the foothill of Vikos village through underground springs that gush at this point and supply it continuously. Views on the rocks were spectacular and we were the only hikers on this day, as it was still low season here. Even the village of Papingo, with a huge new parking lot, was quiet and empty.

This picture has been stitched together from 8 individual pictures. The Crater Lake was formed ~ 7700 years ago in the caldera after the eruption and collapse of Mount Mazama. It has the cleanest water in the USA, almost free of suspended particles, it is also very deep, that´s why the color appears as dark blue. The volcanic cone shaped island on the left is Wizard Island (4400 years old), the small islet on the right is named as Phantom Ship island.

It’s been awhile since I had shot Wishes from Main St (this so happens to be from Holiday Wishes). The new Fastpass areas to shoot Wishes from are different, but I can’t get over all the pole obstructions that are in the way now. To me, this is the “cleanest” view of Wishes, and the way it’s meant to be seen for the full experience.
This was probably the cleanest Metro I've ever seen outside a show, it was just spotless! This was a special edition Nightfire model, I believe one of the last of the line. I love those alloys. Even the black bumpers which are notorious for fading were back, rather than the usual grey. This could easily have walked out of 1994. It only has a small engine, despite sporting alloys. I hope this one will last many years longer, what a beauty!
Was there a time when dancers with their fiddles
In children's circuses could stay their troubles?
There was a time they could cry over books,
But time has set its maggot on their track.
Under the arc of the sky they are unsafe.
What's never known is safest in this life.
Under the skysigns they who have no arms
Have cleanest hands, and, as the heartless ghost
Alone's unhurt, so the blind man sees best

Svenskekløft/Djævlekløft - the area has grown without it
forestry and is therefore more natural forest than the cultivated forests we have in Denmark. Large fallen branches, fallen trees and old hollow trees create a rich and varied landscape

insects and tree-dwelling fungi that can only feed on dead matter
by. The discontinued branches and trunks are filled with holes from

Tits, starlings, owls, plovers and woodpeckers thrive here. At the bottom of the 25 meter deep gorge runs a stream: Svenskebækken, which is one of Zealand's cleanest streams.

The lake was formed about 18,000 years ago, at the time the large alpine glaciers melted. It is fed by many small rivers from the surrounding mountains (Ire, Eau morte, Laudon, Bornette and Biolon), and from a powerful underwater source, the Boubioz, which enters at 82 m depth.
