NeoClassic Space popping up in the Monkie Kid theme with Chang’e Moon Cake Factory
With the build-up to the release of the Galaxy Explorer 2022, I’m looking back at a few builds over the past year that harken back to Classic Space- NeoClassic Space
I’m not necessarily the demographic for this kit, but the neon transparent elements and color scheme caught my eye for MOC potential. When viewing it through the lens of a medium-sized spaceship from early ‘90s, I can appreciate the set as a compelling plaything.
The Bunny Mech, while not meant for minifigs, carries two intended bunny-pilots or a resting minifig. The butt of the ship can pop off to reveal either an energy fuel container or storage for valuables (if not just a microwave in a strange place).
The ship has interesting shaping, especially with the legs, and that great large dome element. Escape pod box gets checked. Stud-shooters are there to good effect as well.
The side-base, a moon cake factory, build is simplistic but charismatic and effective. There is a conveyor belt that might not be captured by my photos, which looks really good for the few elements used.
Simple carrot-rocket and hover-control station/Live-stream station are simple but effective small builds to add to the play value/storytelling.
A funny medium-sized kit with some good MOC potential. What do you think?

Another Neo Classic Space remake of the classic set 6801, Rocket Sled. This is another of my childhood favs ^_^ Hope you enjoy.
Elephant-Knight describes this as a "simple" take on the 928. At first glance, it is - the blue portion of the fuselage is easy to copy and so are the visible portions of the wings. But I'm convinced that for the wing attachments Elephant-Knight's design relies on the kinds of illegal connections and imprecise dimensions that can so easily arise when you're building something by hand and you just want something to connect so badly. I think this is the best I can do in Studio with only legal connections, and even with those I'm not 100% sure there are no collisions if all the bricks are treated as rigid bodies. But it would probably hang together if built in real life. In order to finish this, I had to compromise and leave out the bar that runs between the wings ahead of the cockpit, as well as the last 1x2x2 slopes on the extreme trailing edge of the wings. Like most Galaxy Explorer builders, Elephant-Knight didn't post any pictures of the underside of his model, so I just made that up. The cockpit furnishings and the cargo bay ramps are also different. I liked the Flying Fish spaceship by LeggoCMG and I had fun coloring it with the Classic Space colors.
A MOC I built a few months back but never really posted properly.
This is the Docking ring version, which features an outer-space scene with planets and stars.
In space there is a need for a small vehicle capable of transporting loads of top-secret liquids and minerals at high speed. After loading the precious merchandise into its compartment, it sets off at great speed to deliver it to the Space Control Center.
The vehicle is based on the famous Italian "APE", transformed for the occasion into a very fast spedeer thanks to its powerful engines.
The nostalgia of the 80s and the love for Classic Space make me travel in the imagination and everything can be transformed into something spatial !!

The M2656 PVR (Patrol Vehicle Repulsorlift) is a fast, light patrol craft that can quickly skim a variety of surfaces. I started work on this in LDD (in the livery of several old space themes) and eventually built a physical version a couple of years back. Haven't made time to give it the proper attention photographically.

PS - Yes, there was some major tweaking to the previous version so I could stuff the little guys in properly, ie. without their arms raised as if in stunned shock.
Classic Space - The New Shuttle Craft - Benny's checking out a new shuttle craft to use with a new starship he is dreaming up even as we speak! Ok, well sort of. Anyway here are some pictures for you.
A preview of the next MTRON model of mine. I built the RL model first and then modeled it. I'm waiting to do a photoshoot.
This is the Defender, an interceptor MTRON uses to patrol mining colonies. Like all other Corporation equipment, it is powered by proprietary technology powered by magnetics. MTRON is a magnetic ore company after all...
This Heavy Mineral Transporter is used to transport mined minerals.
I uploaded project file to Rebrickable (but no instructions this time): Project file on Rebrickable

1995’s Spyrius Surveillance Scooter and alt builds
This little gem is the smallest set in my collection. Check out how small the box is, seeing this is like time traveling!
More retro LEGO, including more Spyrius coming soon, BrickLink rocks

Benny was initially a bit put out when he was told he had to recycle his old '80's technology, however he soon managed to make the most of it.
I don't think I've posted my complete, 100% original, 100% buildable, LL 928 remake before. The complete playset is about 1250 pieces.
This build takes the idea of the 918 in the direction of being as sleek as possible while preserving the same length and width. Unfortunately, the wedges at the back aren't available in blue, so I had to paint them. The wedges at the front and back of the fuselage underneath the wing are extremely rare in light bluish gray. It's not exactly a production-optimized design. I tried to enter this in the Ideas GWP contest as the "Bluebird Science Scout," but they wouldn't let me.
1997’s Robo Raider! Check out this old LEGO Mech from a space sub-theme that I hardly remember!
I was a huge fan of the Space theme through the entirety of the 90’s, and was probably collecting the most LEGO of my childhood around ‘97, but when I came across this sub-theme I have a blind spot.
Exploriens? for sure. Insectoids and UFO? I was all about it. Robo Raiders? Never heard of ‘em.
Enough of my potential forgetful-ness, check out this funky robot.
This whole theme had some pretty rad prints, awesome neon transparent elements, and really cool mini-figs!
More RoboForce and older Space sets to be featured soon!
