Do you know that's inktober right now? Artists all over the world take on the this drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. On the second day, one of my favorite artist, Brian Kesinger, drew this lovely robot and I decided to build a LEGO version of it. It was a one-hour build and I'm quite happy with the result.

All the credit, both for the idea and the name, goes to @briankesinger.

Even Benny and Mr. Robot decided to build their own spaceship for Shiptember... :D

As a now trusted member of the crew on Epsilon IV, Sven has been reassigned to the cryochamber. It's one of the more prestigious jobs on the colony and as always, Sven is mighty proud of himself.

Played around with my fog-machine a bit more, figured it would work rather well in a cryochamber. Hope you like it!

Now I'll be able to add some more colour to my usual bley MOCs.

(Shoutout to James for the idea).

There's a short video of the buggy in action, over on Instagram.

This rover I wanted to build for a long time, now I am glad that is finally completed.

It's about 57 cm long.

Thanks to Fausto De Martini for inspiration.

Back the pioneering days of Classic Space, fast, high capacity data links had yet to be invented. Messages, such as engineering drawings, were sent from the Earth to the Moon via fax. This could lead to files having missing or corrupted sections.

One such damaged transmission resulted in this version of the 886 rover. Lacking the bottom part of the drawings, the engineers attached the four wheels in the way that they thought best.

It is also interesting to note that this spaceman is toting a highly illegal "sawn-off" version of the "torch".

The LL-551 Viper was the lightest starfighter in the Federation’s fleet, nimble and quick to mobilise against the raiding craft that posed an increasing threat on the perimeter worlds in the Federation’s compass. Its twinned laser cannons and shielding technologies could hold off most foes until larger ships could be mobilised.

Another new build, this one completed for Novvember, and now featured in November of my 2021 Classic Space Calendar! Sales have been way beyond what I hoped for, and everyone's comments have been so encouraging, so thank you. 2020 has been a tough year for me professionally, so it's great to end on a a positive note. Thanks so much to all of you have already ordered. If you want one, just click here:

Thunder Puffin?

Nitro Gul?

Skiddy Booster?

hmm , anyway it runs, skids, glides and boosts

The Christmas spirit lives on even on the remote outpost station SVW-X. Pine trees do not grow on the distant planet surface, but the team of 30 agile crew members surprised their commanding officer with a choreographed space tree on the Earth day 359, also known as December 25th.

This is a build of a Space X-mas tree for a Eurobrick contest.

Alright, yesterday I posted a brick-built Blacktron signa too early. I thought that version was good enough, but no. This is it.

Archaeology with space & time in your toolbox can offer awesome surprises. Ask Mr. White, a spaceman, he knows.

This is a #spacecowboysaturday post even if it's not saturday. I just like that hashtag.

Actually this was an impromptu Indiana Jones post at first, hence the idol, but I changed it at the last minute. This got some inspiration from the new Indy Lego sets, they bring back fond memories of the old ones.

As the War against Blacktron ranged on, The Lego Scientists wanted to remove as many of their soldiers from the front line as possible. To this end many Automated Attack Robots (AARs) were created and deployed with various degrees of effectiveness. This Scout AAR was one of the true success stories. Although lightly armed with two underslung 360 degree SMGS (attached to the body in yellow), the Scout was capable of dealing with infantry and discovering and relaying the co-ordinates of enemy positions and movement.

Built at Brickfete with Si-Mocs playbrick. He was kind enough to let me keep this and some other sweet loot. The Build was inspired by Brickwarriors Lances which were donated by NeonBricks (jameson and Jamie Leigh).

Can't decide if the straight slopes work better than the curved ones.

Dedicated to all the Calvin and Hobbes' fans like me... :D

This Space Tank is a "small class" unit inspired by WWI English tank Mark I. Colors and style are clearly based on LEGO Classic Space series.

Named "Blue Bull" due to the stocky shape, it's equipped with a huge long-range gun and with a little gun machine right below the rotating turret. I particularly like the loader's hatch and the details featured both on the turret and the side.

The crew is composed by 3 crewmen: the commander, the driver and the gunner.

Here the Tank is at the maintenance hangar where the staff is taking care of it after a moon mission.

Even if Classic Space is not my comfort zone of building, and some friends of mine were surprised seeing this new build, I like this theme since I was a little boy. Moreover having in stock a lot of CS pieces pushed me to build the tank and the space hangar.

It has been really funny building this MOC and for sure won't be alone for a long time.

The forklift is based on Alban Nanty one.

A little fighter. Black and yellow is still one of my favorite color combos. Blacktron forever ;)

A recolour of my Bubble Scout Lego Ideas project.

Though the original designs were pretty solid, I wanted to make one that was ultra stable to prove to myself that it could meet set requirements for strength, without sacrificing the design. I also wanted to try integrating the new grey magnet piece into the body of the model, so that the space cargo could be carried more stably than when I used the train magnet. (I'm not super attached to the magnetic element - any other method of attachment of the space cargo is fine - might do a non magnetic one next). This model can easily survive being dropped (!) and additionally uses the modern helicopter screen that is still in production.

If you like it, please help me by supporting the project at this link - just got to 1400 supporters, so a good start, but plenty more to get! ideas.lego.com/projects/f64e35a2-ebb2-43a7-9dca-dbe0e683bbbf

The boogie is strong with this one. I don’t know why I hear old disco music every time I stumble into this or other images taken in this setup. Is it the glitter?

This is an old photo, an outtake, not posted here before. Sometimes the exposure originally chosen is not the clear winner after some time passes by. This is one of those afterthoughts. It's not dramatically different to the original but enough to make it stand it on its own.

Springy wheels of chain links made this a fun and comfortable way to ride across the craters of Classic Space. The high seat gave great views and mounting/dismounting was never a problem in the low gravity environment.

I was surprised once I realized the last time I did a proper Nova Team group shot was back in August of 2016. Well, I figured what better way to start off Season 5 than with one! Its fun looking back and seeing how much has changed and yet, stayed the same.

For those of you who enjoy Nova Team, sorry it has taken so long for a new photo series to come out. But I hope the wait will be worth it. I have something cooked up that'll be something new and exciting for them, but also very much rooted in past stories. We have action, suspense and lots of LEGO! My hope is this photo series will also setup the next one.

Currently, I'm neck deep right now bouncing back and forth from building, photographing, editing and writing this. Keep a lookout next week when sometime the first installment will drop and with any luck the rest of the story will unfold at an even pace. Thank you all for you're continuing interest and support. It is always VERY MUCH appreciated!

For those who are interested, unfortunately I am unable to sell the Nova Team minifigures or designs due to the use of the "Classic Space" logo which is owned and trademarked by The LEGO Group. My custom designed figures and use of the official "Classic Space" logo is for personal use only in my MOCs and photography. By the same token, I will not give away the design files and source material either. Thank you for understanding! Trust me, if I could legally sell these, I would.

Another rover, another version of tracks, this time with gold ingot pieces for traction. Had to make something fun with the X-pod piece. Added a few blue crystals in the cracks of the ground for a more "alien" look, hope you like it :)

After successfully extracting the uncoscious pilot from the strange exosuit, he's been transported back to Starbase and into a life support pod for further examination.

The seed part of this buld was obviously the new classic space print that comes with the brown spaceman... thats no baby monitor I say.

Welcome to Planet Frost

Our tour continues...

We are in for a rare treat! The Zotaxians are making their pilgrimage to Planet Frost to witness the hatching of the rare yellow Cyclops Slimestars. These elusive creatures only appear once every 37 earth standard years. The Zotaxians travel here in their Insectoid rovers to witness the event and throw a spectacular festival. This particular rover features the signature Zotaxian insect camouflage (To protect them from the natural predators on their adopted world Holox), dual cockpit, and an integrated hover skimmer to get a bugs-eye view of the hatching. If you have time while you are visiting Planet Frost, you should check out the Zotaxian Festival of the Hatching Yellow Stars.

Febrovery 2025 - 21

Mobile satellite links were extremely useful for relaying the findings of the Federation's various surface discovery vehicles straight to space stations and orbiting space craft. However, when dust and electrical storms made such communication impossible, the Heavy Communications Rover could send and receive messages seismically through a planet's interior. A network of four rovers would be enough to cover the entire surface of most planets, ensuring transfer of information from the planet surface to space without interruption. In the days of Blacktron raids, this tactic allowed the Federation to react speedily to attack.

I had this old dark gray radar dish sitting on the shelf for years and decided I had to make something with it. This was the result. It's not obviously visible on the main edit, but the stacked dishes behind the main cab are meant to be a device to create seismic pulses, and also provide a pivot point between the can and the trailer. Also pleased that I used three trans yellow windscreens I’d never used before - particularly fun to discover that the inverted windscreen can accept two SNOT studs. I also used three different lattice parts in old light gray to tie the build together.

NCS fast transport.

Further details and backstory can be found at my blog: ghsquarefeet.wordpress.com/2018/05/25/space-sphinx/

Named for its bug-like appearance, the Cargo Critter, is a tiny ship with the inglorious job of picking up small objects in one place and putting them down somewhere else. It began its life as a bet between engineers who, having lived far too long, had become bored of thinking of good ideas and moved on to bad ones. The bet, so the story goes, was that the ship's architect could design and sell a cargo ship with the capacity to carry no more cargo than two strong humans could lift comfortably. The designer won the bet by giving the ship more thrust than a comparably-sized fighter. It can't carry much, but it will get it there quickly!

A neo-classic space 6-wheeler for the #febrovery2022

I was aiming for the martian desert nomads look. I'm really happy with the independent working suspension for each wheel (I'm not a technic guy, you know) and the radar dish. The cargo is easily detachable, but I do not have any alternative at the moment.

The rover was mostly ready in December, but is there a better time to post the photo than February?

The LL-942 was designed for use in high density atmospheres, and also to be able to withstand manoeuvres in high gravitational fields. Early exploratory missions included many to gas and ice giants, its natural habitat, but it soon proved so popular with Federation pilots that it became one of the most used ships in active service.
