Exploring exo-planets is often a hazardous business. There can be hostile plants and animals lurking, ready to pounce on unsuspecting spacemen. Sometimes it's hard to spot which is which...

Somewhere in the wreckage of MOCpages was a brilliant series of builds by David Alexander Smith featuring spacemen dealing with all manner of monsters. This little model was inspired by those: thank you.
Welcome to Planet Frost
Our tour continues...
You may have noticed throughout our tour of Planet Frost that spacemen and spacewomen travel here from throughout the galaxy to further their scientific studies. Our unique and varied array of spaceplants and indigenous creatures attract researchers from many disciplines and many space factions. Here is a scientific envoy from the planet Whitetron. The Whitetron inhabitants very rarely leave their monochromatic world, but this special team has traveled to Planet Frost to study and report back about the properties of our colorful wildlife.

Well, that concludes our tour of Planet Frost. I hope you have enjoyed getting to see a little bit of our humble planet, and that you will come back to see us again real soon. As you exit the tour vehicle, please place all of your trash in the appropriate receptacle and don't forget to tip the tour guide.
Happy Febrovery from all of us here at Planet Frost!

Welcome to Planet Frost
Some recent arrivals to Planet Frost are the researchers from the Federation's new CitySpace Initiative. This program is focused on finding and utilizing novel new sources of energy. Another innovation of the CitySpace Initiative is the tapping into the collective knowledge of indigenous creatures that have been largely marginalized in the past. This has proven to be a huge resource and helped the technological advancements of the Federation grow at rates far superior to the old methods. It has also greatly improved the Federation's reputation with non-human species throughout the galaxy.

Welcome to Planet Frost
If you look to the left of the tour rover, you will catch a glimpse of a small herd of Schnoofles, and one of our celebrity residents, the famed adventurer Kepler Van Allen. The once self-described lone wolf has settled into a comfortable "retirement" here on Planet Frost.
this is essentially two previous mechs (desert hunchback/slouch + classic space ground unit) combined =)

You may have noticed during our tour that we have not seen any Space Police. While they do have a presence here on Planet Frost, it is minimal because we have a very low crime rate. You may see some private security rovers like this one. Some of our more prominent residents have been known to hire the Galaxy Patrol mercenaries, not so much because the security is necessary; it is mostly because it looks cool to have them follow you around.

Well, I must confess: all this "West Dune Customs" stuff I came up with, should have been just something to introduce my new MOC. Obviously it got completely out of control, gaining its own dignity, so I hope you won't be disappointed with the real MOC.
Here it is, a X-34 Tatooine landspeeder revamped in a Classic Space way, another Classic Space - Star Wars mashup from me, after Rey's speeder. What's wrong with me and speeders?
I got the same idea my friend billyburg got, but he's clearly a faster builder than me, so he uploaded his version (billyburg's classic space landspeeder) to Flickr more than a month ago. I love his version so much that I almost gave up building mine; I didn't want to give the impression of copying other people's work. Luckily, this thought lasted just less than a day...
No piece has been cut or glued. For the "snot reversal tecniques" I used on the rear of the speeder and on the side of the seats I have to thank kosbrick and his tutorials.
For the turbines design credits to Larry Lars. As I already wrote, I tried at least three different versions of the turbines, but I ended up using his, the one, eventually, I was happiest with.
I think it's a very hot landspeeder, but I am, obviously, not impartial. Maybe a little too long, but at the West Dune Custom they had to lenghten the chassis to install such a badass engine. ;-)
And the license plate? Well, 1970 is the year I was born, so LL970 was a straight choice... :D
Based on a design concept by Miguel Reizinho, and as seen at the fantastic Parades De Coura Lego fan weekend in Portugal last month.

Planet Frost is ecologically and biologically diverse. We strive to live in harmony with the natural life on our planet. There is an appointed team of scientists charged with cataloging and studying the myriad species of plants and creatures, both indigenous species and those that have migrated to our world. Here is one such scientific delegation, interviewing a pair of Daisy Gazers.

It seems poor Meep didn't get very far with that bargain rover that he purchased from Sincere Shawn. Assessing the trail of parts a dozen clicks long, the busted tires, leaking ooze, and overheated radium radiator, Meep is filled with buyer's remorse.
"I told you we should have gone to Honest John's" says his pal Karl.
"Meep!" replies Meep.
"You're right, Meep. Good thing you paid a little extra for the RRR roveside assistance protection"

A variant of my LL-926, fully updated using mostly modern parts (e.g. light bluish gray), and every part is easily available and cheap on bricklink. I finally caved to requests and made instructions for the first time - a fascinating process! It has a fully detailed underside, functional landing gear, a moveable hatch, rear ramp and transport buggy which fits neatly inside, and is fully swooshable!
(even if you don't purchase would help me out if you take a look, and maybe even like/comment on Rebrickable as that lets it get more visible)
Have fun!
This is the behind the scene of "Hasta la vista Blacktron!". Obviously when I took the photo the led inside the gun was the only light.
Well, it's NnoVVember again, and that means Vic Vipers.
For once I felt the urge to participate in this monthly challenge; I've built ships with the set of characteristics that define a Vic Viper, but I wouldn't call myself a specialist in them and I seldom feel the urge to build something with those particular constraints during the month of November.
LL731 is pretty conventional as Vic Vipers go: two forward prongs, two rear wings, single vertical tail fin. And it's Classic Space because of course it is.
I found a vertical sculpture in Scottsdale, AZ. I used a bit of chewed gum to attach this little spaceman to the surface. 👍
This MOC was build for the Space Tag Team Contest on www.roguebricks.de
The Picture features the CS-NextGen (Classic Space the Next Generation). The color scheme is inspired by the current City Space theme. The ship is called „LIZARD“ XVS-10 and is a light freighter.

Ah look, a perfect spot to do a little space camping. There is Space Hippie Pete with his RoverVan7800, a fantastic machine for enjoying a little bit of the great outdoors (provided your species is compatible with our atmosphere.) And of course Pete is joined by his little alien pal Goopster and his faithful astropup "Rover". What more could you ask for?
Also a little nod to Ids de Jong's fun little blacktron robot design. I wonder if he thinks Pete's dog is a space wolf?

Hi everyone! To celebrate Febrovery, I decided to revamp the 1988 Futuron set 6925, Interplanetary Rover. Hope you like it!

Well there is the man himself, Honest John: the famous rover dealer. He got his start right here on Planet Frost with a humble used rover lot, and now he is the premier broker of rovers throughout this sector of the Galaxy. He only sells the finest quality machines and stands behind each deal he makes. Honest John is only happy when his customers are satisfied with their new purchase. His success has encouraged many imitators to try and follow in his footsteps, but there is only one Honest John.

Channel 78 crew is looking for the best location to shoot a new episode of the popular TV show "Hot date with the man in helmet" ^^
Everybody knows that the best way to travel in space is neither by star ship across the galaxy nor by rover across a moon. The best way has always been and will forever remain to travel by monorail. But where did it all begin?
Unsurprisingly, the "creative" types in the notorious Vehicle Design Department of Llwyngwril Space Systems had a hand in the early development of the monorail. They decided that their various designs for rovers and buggies were far too practical and useful. It would be far more interesting for spacemen to travel on fixed narrow, tracks whilst delicate balancing a speeding vehicle.
These archive pictures show the early prototypes being tested. It was powered by two clockwork, "pull-back" motors. Fortunately the astronauts of Classic Space eventually award the contract to a rather more sensible design bureau.
You can see a film of the machine in action here.
Now here is the last part of my ClassicSpace outpost. I apologize that it took so long, but my photographer could not give out so quickly the huge background.
Total of this project took half a year, how many hundreds of hours I've invested, I can not say exactly. Nor how many thousands of parts I have installed. I stopped counting at 9,000.
In some parts I have made improvements, as you can well see at the dish and the ship. My good friend Steinedrucker has helped me with the orange space guys. I think it's a good idea to use the diving bottles here. The idea with the crater ridge as I have tried a new technique, I think it looks quite good.
I hope you all like my last part .... have fun

Some may find it a bit unsettling to encounter Blacktron agents roving around here on the surface of Planet Frost, but these fellows here are on a sanctioned mission. I don't know all the details, but it has something to do with space wolves...
