Tonight I had to go into NYC to a music business endeavor. On my way home I came across this guy. I always admire artists who play in subway stations. He was rippin' it up on his classical guitar. He played it as if it grew inside his mother's womb along with him (Must of hurt when that came out! Ok, horrible joke). He was people watching and playing some crazy complicated stuff without looking down as his fingers. So impressive that I gave him $3. I love NYC!

These neo-classicistic premises were erected between 1838 and 1841 for the Palace of Justice and later housed the National Department for Town and Country Planning. In 2004/2005 the Palace at the Blijmarkt was converted into an art museum in accordance with a design by the architect Gunnar Daan. The museum was spectacularly renovated in 2012 and since 1 June 2013 open to the public. 'THE EYE’, or 'The cloud', is what the elliptically shaped superstructure on the roof is called by the Museum de Fundatie itself. But already numerous other nicknames are going around: 'the egg', 'the UFO', 'the Zeppelin' or 'the spaceship'. The extension, a design of architect Hubert-Jan Henket, accommodates two exhibition rooms with a total surface area of almost 1,000 m². A large oval window offers a view of the historic inner city. On the outside the superstructure is clad with 55,000 white-blue tiles. Optically the expansion is lifted like a ceramic cloud, floating above the originally neo-classical building. Located where the medieval city centre borders on the 19th century avenues, the renovated Museum is a present-day beacon as well as an icon for the future. The new construction meets the demand for extra space for the successful sandwich of crowd pullers and specialist-oriented exhibitions.

Jose Ruiz Elcoro is a Cuban pianist and musicologist, specializing in Iberoamerican music. He is currently a pianist for the Miami City Ballet. He earned his B.A. in Philology at the University of Havana and graduated from the Ignacio Cervantes Conservatory in Havana. As a piano performer and lecturer, he has appeared in numerous stages and universities in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
Born in Holguin, Cuba, soprano Eglise Gutierrez has sung in some of the most prestigious venues of the world. She made her debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, during the 2009-2010 season as Linda di Chamonix. She made her Berlin Deutsche Oper Debut as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor. Ms. Gutierrez has also appeared in concert in Prague, Cannes, Helsinki, and Miami, and in a U.S. tour with Andrea Bocelli.

When Suzhou is mentioned, the first thought in every Chinese mind is of its gardens. It is said that the gardens to the south of Yangtze River are the best in the world, and Suzhou gardens are the best among them. The history of the classical gardens of Suzhou can be traced back to 6 BC. By the time of the Ming and Qing dynasties, Suzhou City had become a garden city with more than 200 gardens. Having experienced a long history, only a part of the gardens are preserved perfectly. Because of their ingenious man-made landscape and the ideal of harmony between heaven and human beings, the gardens have gained a high reputation world wide. Canglang Pavilion (Blue Wave Pavilion), Lingering Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Grove Garden are the four top gardens in Suzhou, representing the architectural styles of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties respectively. The latter three gardens were added to the World Heritage List in 1997. Additionally, the Garden of Master of Nets will definitely appeal to you, as it is the best example of small and medium-sized gardens.

I was really pleased with the Philharmonia emails saying it was mandatory to wear masks for the concert I was going to at the Festival Hall. But quite shocked when there was then no announcement and no enforcement. It would have felt much safer, with the place almost full, if they'd ejected a few refuseniks. The others sharing their viruses with neighbours would soon have put masks on and made everyone safer. Luckily I had a lot of empty space in front and to my right but the young guy to my left removed his mask 30 mins in, with zero repercussions. With 1 in 55 people infected in England it was shocking to see so many people risking the health of those around them. Despite having had 3 Pfizer Covid jabs I kept my FFP2 mask on throughout. Don't think I'll be going back until they exclude the unvaccinated.
