Colas Class 47's 47 748 & 47 727 haul ex-Fertis rail Class 56 078 dead in tow through Rugby, Tuesday 4th Sept 2012

Every year when I started school I had a student portrait taken, and until I was in junior high school (called middle school now) the prints were accompanied by single print of all the other students in my homeroom class.

For whatever reason we were moved from Crown Valley Elementary School for the sixth grade to Capistrano School, an ancient high school in San Juan Capistrano, about seven miles away (apparently it is called Junipero Serra High School now, not to be confused with the Catholic JSerra High School just up the street). It was nothing but sixth graders at the school, from all over south Orange County. So a lot of my classmates that year were new to me.

This was the last year for class portraits like this. After the sixth grade I was in junior high school and high school and we had yearbooks instead of class photos.

It's somewhat astounding to me now that I can no longer remember most of these kids' names. The ones I do name you can probably find on Facebook, if you are curious. If you know any of the people on this page, feel free to use the notes feature to identify them.

863 examples of this class of Pannier Tank locomotive were built, making it one of the more numerous classes of locomotives on British Railways.

This example was built in 1937, currently on static display at Didcot Railway Centre due to firebox problems.

After around an hour (when I missed the 14:48), the 15:48 on the 7th May 2017 arrived at Rugeley Trent Valley Station (the 15:37 from Birmingham New Street).

It departed on time back to take me back to Birmingham on London Midland 170634.

The Chase Line is going to be electrified from Walsall towards Rugeley Trent Valley during the summer of 2017 (it's already electrified from Birmingham New Street to Walsall).

Once that is done, these diesel units will be replaced by electric units (faster and cleaner apparently).

On Sunday's the service is one train per hour.

Rugeley Trent Valley is a railway station located on the outskirts of Rugeley in Staffordshire, England. It is one of two stations serving Rugeley, the other being Rugeley Town. The Trent Valley station is within the Colton parish, on the opposite side of the River Trent from the town of Rugeley. London Midland operates the station, and all trains serving it; a passenger-operated self-service ticket machine has been placed at the station entrance (which is on the southbound (Rugby-bound) platform).

It is a minor station on the Trent Valley section of the West Coast Main Line. It is also the junction with the Chase Line from Birmingham and Walsall.
