Class 37/0 No.37226 at Shirebrook on 7th January 1984,Number and data panel.New to traffic at 87E Landore as D6926 on 14th February 1964 and renumbered to 37379 on 20th July 1988.The 37 was withdrawn in December 2001 and cut up at C.F. Booth,Rotherham in January 2008.
Ebbw Junction diesel depot on 2 February 1980. The Class 37 on the left appears to be 37278, but I don't have a note of the other 8/9 Class 37s, or the 08s and the 47 also visible.
Just before the run in to my finals at university, I took one last opportunity to do the 37 hauled sleepers to Aberdeen and back out of Inverness on another pair. 37510 and 37071 did the honours northbound and are seen on arrival in the Granite City. Monday 10 April 1995.

This loco took some identifying - not! Named Star of the East at the time, Ruston engined Class 37/9 no 37906 attracts a crowd at Rawtenstall on Friday 10 September 1999.
37016 Heading Light Engine to Guide Bridge, in 1981 would of been rare at Warrington.
Renumbered 37716 it's still in active service with West Coast Railways.

On 12 December 1987, we see 37694 at Robeston on the SEG "Pembroke Coast Pullamn" tour from Waterloo. 33059/207 were at the other end. Oh, for the days when you could get out anywhere on a railtour...
