A quick flashback to remind ourselves of the recent splendour of 37s on the Welsh Valley line to Rhymney from Cardiff.
Here we see 37418 at Rhymney having just arrived with the 1701 from Cardiff.
13th June 1995. Unofficially named "Comet", 37116 roars through Coatbridge Central with 8D59 13:08 Perth to Mossend Yard.
This view taken from the end of platform 4 looking through the bridge under Station Road at Bridlington still provides a fine array of semaphores. Of course these Victorian relics are due to be replaced when the station layout is simplified next spring.
The locomotive sat by the signal box is 37218 which would soon make a return trip to Scarborough.
37403 runs round it's train at Whitby, having just arrived with the 15:00 from Pickering and will depart back at 17:10. September 5 2022

Surrounded by canopies and bicycles 37218 is seen at Bridlington awaiting the signal tteo heard north to Scarborough. She was being used light engine, so I don't quite know the purpose of the duty being performed.

Harry Needle's 37610 creeps towards the platform end, as it arrives with a Network Rail test train.
This locomotive has been painted in what I can only call 'small logo' livery, based on BR's former 'large logo' version, but with small numbers and emblem!
37416 has just passed Stenson Junction with a late running 4V03, Lynemouth to Pengam with a reduced load of aluminium ingots.

55 year old 37254 is probably the oldest thing caught in this shot. The old girl is taking the new line that skirts between Pudding Mill Lane DLR station and the Cross Rail Eastern portal (the graffiti covered wall). The Network Rail test train 1Q97 was going the very scenic route from Ferme Park to Cambridge.
