The nearby KFC (sign just in shot to the far left) was doing a roaring trade, however just like the nearby McDonalds was causing chaos on the roads with queues of traffic spilling out onto the highway. No doubt in two weeks time when other more interesting eateries open up these problems will subside. The Premier Inn carpark seemed to be doing a good trade, but quite why so many business travellers were here I haven't got a clue.

I had to change at Kidsgrove to get to Longport for a test train. I was at Kidsgrove for an hour and in that hour 66184 went through on an Arpley - Stoke Macroft. I got to Longport and the test train hadn't shown as leaving yet. Here is 37608 and 37603 passing Longport running some 40 minutes late working a Derby R.T.C - Crewe C.S test train 5/8/16
