Been busy working on other things lately, among which is are various websites to showcase work of different types... then there's the work itself... then real work... anyways, its been a while since I went shooting. I missed it.
This house scared the crap out of me. It creaked and groaned like the bowels of hell were in the basement, just urging it upwards. As you can see by the severely bowed cieling, I dared not venture to the top floor for fear of instigating a collapse.

Leadenhall Market
It is one of the oldest markets in London, dating from the 14th century, and is located in the historic centre of the City of London financial district.
The market dates from the 14th century. It is typically open weekdays from 10 am until 6 pm, and primarily sells fresh food; among the vendors there are cheesemongers, butchers and florists.
Originally a meat, game and poultry market, it stands on what was the centre of Roman London .
The ornate roof structure, painted green, maroon and cream, and cobbled floors of the current structure, designed in 1881 by Sir Horace Jones who was the architect of Billingsgate and Smithfield markets.
The main entrance to the market is on Gracechurch Street. The double height entrance is flanked by tall, narrow gabled red brick and Portland stone blocks in a C17 Dutch style. The adjacent buildings to the south have a continuous retail frontage which is punctuated by narrow entrances to pedestrian ways into the market.

Jack's eight month checkup was this afternoon...I always clear my schedule when he has a checkup...sure, I want to see the results of his growth from the last visit to our pediatrician and of course I want to know he is healthy. But selfishly I love going to the pediatricians office because I get great lighting with my off camera flash in the examining room. I have tons f shots from today and past visits. Shots from past visits can be seen in my "Project 365 Jack" set.

Title: Fly me away
Like the shot? Fav it!

She promises pain within those eyes but still we feel drawn in for that one chance to fly away...

Tada... result of approximately 4 hours of painstakingly photoshopping each individual strand of string out of the image!
To be perfectly honest, I'm not quite sure what the original concept was with Jeanine. We started off with a vague concept involving butterflies sucking color out of a person, but I got distracted with a disintegrating butterfly concept...and finally well, this is what we ended up with haha.
I'm not sure why but I kinda like the fact that the butterflies don't really stand out in the image all that much. You do see them when you look but...yeah. Pretty neat =)
For those of you interested, I uploaded a before/after shot of my edits that you can check out here: img.skitch.com/20100417-qmq4rsyqar6mky1n4fsbh1i58w.jpg

Had some fun with hair, makeup and ghetto lighting tonight!
** The ghetto lighting I speak of was created by holding (in my right hand) one of those construction lamps, the kind with the cage around it, that you can hang from the cieling. Haha!
Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas
For those that haven't been to Las Vegas, this is inside the Hotel Venetian (indoors). The cieling is painted like the sky and there is an artificial soft breeze so that if you stay there for 5 minutes you forget that you are inside the Hotel and you feel like you are actually in Venice.
I had taken this photo with a film camera and I scanned the negative with my HP Scanner that can scan negatives but the quality and colors where awful. After a lof of processing in Photoshop I think I brought the photo quality to an acceptable level.

ISFAHAN-in progress
The unique blue tiles of Isfahan's Islamic buildings, and the city's majestic bridges, contrast perfectly with the hot, dry Iranian countryside around it, Isfahan is a sight you won't forget. Not only is the architecture superb and the climate pleasant, but there's a fairly relaxed atmosphere here, compared with many other Iranian towns. It's a city for walking, getting lost in the bazaar, walking in beautiful gardens and meeting people.
The famous half-rhyme Isfahan nesf-e-jahan (Esfahan is half the world) was coined in the 16th century to express the city's grandeur. There's so much to see that you'll probably have to ration your time and concentrate on must-sees such as the Imam Mosque, a magnificent building completely covered in Isfahan's trademark pale blue tiles; This mosque is situated to the south of Naqsh-e-Jahan sq. built in the reign of shah Abbas, tile work and architecture of this Mosque is amazingly superb. Its minarets Are 48 meters high. Naghsh-e-Jahan (world picture) Square, one of the largest town square in the world. The Chehel Sotun Museum & Palace, a marvellous 17th century pavilion and a great place for a picnic; this palace is another building dating back to the Safavid period, built amidst a vast garden covering an area of 67000 sq m. The building has a veranda with 18 pillars and a large pool in front of it. Being mirrored in the still water of the pool, the pillars create a beautiful view. The wall painting in the interior of the building is superlative in their kind.Ali Qapoo Palace Situated to the west of Naghsh-e-Jahan Sq. belongs to the Safavid period. It was used for the reception of the Ambassadors and envoys from other Countries. Ali Qapoo is a six-storied plasterwork and paintings of which are extremely impressive. and the Vank Cathedral, the historic focal point of the Armenian church in Iran. Taking tea in one of the teahouses under the bridges is also an essential part of the Isfahan experience.
Isfahan is about 400km (250ml) south of Tehran.

This is the Ice Cave interior at Edith Cavell Mountain in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. The Ice cave is deep and very silent. My hair stood on end the whole time in the ice cave. Angel Glacier just above this cave has blocks of glacial ice - some, as large as houses - crash down on top of this cave and into Cavell pond just outside of this cave. I spent minimal time in the cave to get this shot.... you become sensitive to the slightest noise, even a water drop!!! I adjusted the slight blue hue of the ice with CS3 to create these wonderful contrasts of the ice cave walls.
I travelled across the North American Continent to get this shot. From Washington DC to Jasper Alberta... incredible views from Jasper National Park.
